Was Babel Overrated?
 

This thread isnt made to go on forever and ever discussing too much, I'd just like to know what people think. Was the movie Babel overrated?

Usually I find that I enjoy the more well made drama-esque serious movies but this one just didnt do it for me - actually I consider it basically "bad". It was boring as all hell (and I've liked more boring movies) and it just wasnt...good.
Yet I keep hearing how great it was...ok the actors were fairly good and it was interesting to see Pitt in something kind of new and different from his recent actiony/comedy movies.

Has anyone else seen Babel? If so what do you think?

The whole Japanese chick and familiy thing seemed a bit too forced and unneeded. While the stories of the nanny, the Berber Family and the Rich family seemed to flow better.

I thought it was OK not as good as Amores Perros, but i am kind of pulling for it to win best picture.

Yeah, that whole part just seemed a bit...usless...not to mention just straight up weird when she enters the room totally naked with the detective there.

HELL NO! Letters from Iwo Jima if anything....I really think Eastwood needs to be awarded for his epic two movie tackle of the battle for Iwo Jima...hell, I think he dserves it even more b/c in both movies he was historically accurate down to every last stone on Mt. Surabatchi (sp...it's late). If not that then either The Departed or Little Miss Sunshine.
