Default The One

Right, well this movie looks like absolute ****e. I was kind of anxious about how it would turn out, as the concept (Fighting alternate universe versions of yourself to gain strength) sounds like something out of a Marvel book (Pre-Quesada era, anyway)...and the trailer confirmed it for me. It literally screamed "6TH DAY/TOTAL RECALL WITH JET LI INSTEAD OF ARNOLD" at me. And while those movies were pretty enjoyable, they weren't quite...what I'm looking for in a Jet Li movie. Who knows, maybe I'll be surprised (I was actually kinda pleased with OUATIC 3, and I thought it was gonna suck) but still...my ****ty movie sense is tingling

Although I have to say, seeing Jet as a villain warms my heart. I first saw him in lethal weapon 4 as a bad guy, and he's never been QUITE as much a bad ass. So I'm probably going to be rooting for Evil Jet Li a lot, when and if I see it.

Now if only Jackie would play a bad guy...anyone who watched Jackie Chan Adventures knows what I'm talking about

"What're we gonna do!?"
Jackie: "Laugh like circus clowns while they beg for mercy"

Seriously? I think The One looks like might be sweet. It's a cool concept (reminds me of Rising Stars, with power being divided amongst survivors, etc) and of course, it looks like heavy-duty action and effects. Even though the trailer was a little too "rapid fire" for my tastes, I think there's a lot more to this flick than the trailer showed. From what I've read, it's getting a decent buzz already from people who've seen some early material.

I guess we'll see! It had better kick ass, if he passed up the Matrix sequels to star in this...
