Yeah, I know what you mean I remember 'said' friend thought Lord of the Rings was shit Because it wasn't EXACTLY the same as the book...maybe he was putting me down for being an uncultured buffoon.
I don't really go out and see films...i can wait for the dvd...although if something does capture my eye i will go and see it. Like AvP2...i will definitely go see that!
This is most likely going to be the only one, over and over
*In gay dudes voice* " Ani's Wearing only the newest of fashion this year, insted of the old drag jedi brown robes ani has doneed a more stylish Black mask and matching outfit ( I just want to hump him because im gay ), and down there near his belt is his massive Ball-guard with the latest technoligy to keep the fruit of the loom nice and cozy" Just kidden
-Star Wars Ep 3
Universally positive reviews so far, most saying that it jostles with A New Hope for joint-second best of the franchise (after Empire, natch), and judging from the trailer more lightsaber action than the entire Jedi Knight game series combined. And I do love lightsabers. Oh yes!
-Sin City
I have suspicions about the calibre of pacing and storytelling in this film, but I'm a sucker for directorial panache and this film does look exceptional in this area, so I'll definitely be seeing it.
-The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (Narnia)
I wouldn't be at all surprised if this movie is messed around with to the extent of the Jurassic Park adaptation, but considering that the book is arguably one of the worst of the series that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. I'm worried though that the heavy influence of US Christian fundamentalism will exaggerate the already unsubtle religious elements of the story, which would have sickening results for anyone outside the Bible Belt.
-War of the Worlds
I wouldn't be a primary-cinema-demographicee if I didn't see this :P. It's a pretty safe bet for whatever studio's behind this. As for the movie itself I don't expect much beyond a bit of enjoyable popcorn, Independence Day style.
-AvP2
Guys... do yourselves a favour and forget about this one :P. Nearly every aspect of the Alien and Predator franchises is stuck in an impenetrable bog of development hell, even the excellent PC game series it would seem. It took about a decade for the AvP movie to get the go-ahead, and considering its lukewarm reception I can only see it happening again for the sequel.
