Default Battlestar Galactica

anybody else watch the new BSG on Sci-Fi? i dont wanna sound like one of those people whose puprose in life is just to flatter, but...

that show is insanely awesome...

the acting is amazing... it could kick Enterprise's ass 18 times over and still have fight left in it... it's truly amazing

the VFX are awesome too... much better than Enterprise, by FAR...

The acting could run eight laps around a large chunk of all Star Trek, mainly because most of the characters are being developed far more extensively and doing some deeper acting as a result. And heck yeah the visual effects are pretty amazing. I like the little touches like the manoeuvring jets at the sides of the Vipers and suchlike. The camera work gets some getting used to, but it's very effective as well... they've made it seem almost like a documentary, in some ways. Especially the external shots, when the camera seems to pan around the scene until it finds a ship and then zooms in on it. And the story line itself is pretty interesting; always making you want to know what happens next.
The only problem with shows like this is that if you have long, detailed story lines rather than smaller, single-episode ones, and lots and lots of character development, newer viewers find it harder to get into and understand when it gets further along. This happened to Farscape and, well, look what happened there. I hope the same doesn't happen with BSG.

While I am appreciative, it won't even run Doom. So (insert sad face here)]

true... Enterprise never did do much character building... take Mayweather for example, except for the one episode when he went onto his brother's freighter or something, all he ever did was say "Yes sir" or something stupid like that

the camera work truly kicks ass... i too love the manuvering jets off of the Vipers... never gets old however, i think that the "documentary" style camera works for it... seems to add a little more action, if you ask me

As a kid, I was a HUGE fan of the old Battlestar Galactica back in the 70's or early 80's when Boomer was a cool, reserved black dude and Starbuck was slick, womanizing hotshot. I absolutley loved that show and when the pilot episodes for the new BSG appeared on Sci-Fi in December of 2003 ....I watched it and I gotta tell you all I loved it!

I love the new spin on the old concept and how they shook up the characters. Great selections for the actors, especially Commander Adama and Col. Tye. I really like the nice twist by allowing the old Viper Mark IIs to be in the new one as they were my absolute favorite toy when I was a kid. And the new Cylon Raiders are terrifying and totally bad-ass!

All in all ....I am very pleased with the new BSG and I will watch it just as avidly as I did the old BSG

Without those Vipers, and the character names, they couldn't call it "Battlestar Galactica". It is a lot different. My mom used to watch the first BG series, she doesn't like the new one.

I myself have had a little trouble keeping Boomer, and Starbuck straight... I do remember Dick Van Dyke's son, cast as Starbuck in the originals.

i never did watch the original BSG, since it was WAY before my time, so keeping it straight isnt too hard

those Vipers really kick some major ass with all of their manuverability... although a single runabout might be able to take on Galactica's whole compliment of fighters
