I think Enterprise has some good actors, and good visual effects.

But it seems to be lacking a certain something that makes it special.

Next Gen didnt get it til Season 3, DS9 didnt get it til about season 2 or 3, Voyager got it about season 3.

I watch Enterprise and it doesnt seem like its found its nitch or place, it seems to be wandering.

Battlestar Galactica, like Babylon 5, seems to know where it came from, where it is, and where it is going. It seems to know where it fits in the grand scheme of things.

I attribute alot of this to the writing and directing.

Effects are good, I thought the acting was terrible and the storylines only ok.
I dunno, maybe it will get better, its only at like ep2 of season 1 here so if it starts getting better I might watch it.
Still, those ep's and the miniseries were pretty poor in my opinion.

i never really got to see the miniseries (5 hours, my GOD! who sits in front of a TV that long?!)

IMHO, i thought the acting was some of the best ive seen in my life...

the storylines weren't too bad, but the whole "OMGZ, you're a Cylon!" is getting kinda old

No way...Cylons were only machines...that brain thing is new
He became the leader of the Cylons attacking Galactica...

Had one of those obvious roles of "They got away master" roles that continued without success.

Oh, that's the guy was... i watched a few episodes of the old BSG, and remember a human in there with the Cylons, and i never quite figured out why...

another question too: was the Pegasus (is that it's name?) there with Galactica the entire time, since right after the attack, or did she come in later?

Pegasus was a complete surprise to Adama they thought they were alone
But they didn't work together very well...Much like Janeway and Ransom without the Violation of the Prime Directive

The Pegasus commander was below rank to Adama and prefered his own methods of strategy and tactics...He was better in my opinion...Adama was more concerned for the Civilan Fleet...didn't take quick action.

At the end of the Episode The Pegasus is supossedly destroyed triggering a Cylon trap meant for Galactica. I belive he just made it look good and followed her back to Earth Protecting Galactica's six from the Cylons.... (They're best Episode)

I like the new series, one of the next episodes is called, "The Hand Of God". The original series had an episode named exactly that and it was about those angel like people who helped them find Earth. I hope they carry that story line into the new one.

I really can't see why so many people like it.
Well, that's your opinion, this would be a pretty boring world if we all liked and disliked the same things.

Galactica wasn't out of date...thus wasn't why she survived
Pegasus did survive the attack (picking I know)
Cyclons never had human form....This is a stretch of the orignal concept if not breaking it.

The concept is nolonger the same
I'd be sortof bored if it was the same.

Wrongo, I just saw an 1980 episode where Cylons were testing there newest models out on the humans, the new models were in human form. I guess the new series took a cue from that.

Actually it was a two parter playing on two separate days, you would only have to sit for just two hours at a time.
Also, the miniseries is only four hours long.

Nah, it just adds more story for the new series.

my sentiments exactly

all things considered, i think that the new BSG is overall a much better show than the original BSG... besides, you can watch episodes for free (and legally) at scifi.com/battlestar
