Well. This thread became slightly disturbing very quickly...

Ooooh... this new show is by far the best scifi one I have watched yet.... This and 24 are the only two TV shows I watch. The rest of my entertainment is just all part of my VAST DVD collection.

just a small anouncement

if you go to scifi.com/battlestar , you can watch the first episode, 33, commercial free and uncut...

IMHO, its one of the best episodes there's been so far, so make sure you get a chance to watch it, before its gone! the video is 42 minutes-ish

IMHO the special effects style is the same as used in Babylon 5. The camera moving to and zooming in on a ship was used in Babylon 5 and Babylon 5 was one of the first Sci Fi shows to actually follow Newtonian physics.

I was a big big fan of Galactica and watched every episode. Loved it and was sad when it was cancelled.

Most Galactica fans dont even acknowledge that Galactica 1980 even existed, it was that bad. Only good episode was the Starbuck one.

When I heard about the new Galactica on SciFi I was ecstatic.

When I heard the ship was different and Starbuck was a woman and the storyline was different I was horrified. I was wondering just how bad they could mess this up. My only hope was that I am a big fan of Edward James Olmos probably relating to his role of Gaff in Bladerunner.

Upon watching the new series I must say I have no complaints. The battle scenes are very well done, the character development is excellent, and they way they worked the shiips and props from hte original series into the new series was a stroke of brillance. Im not real crazy about the new Cylons and the human looking Cylons but overall I have no complaints. This show is alot better than I expected or even hoped.

The two guys in Galactica 1980 you are talking about are Captain Troy and Dillon. Dick Van Pattens son was Dillon.

I have no complaints with Enterprise. I like the ship and characters but Scott Blackula just doesnt do it for me. There needs to be some energy and originality pumped into the show.

I have started a thread on it but it looks like Paramount is pulling the plug on Trek for a year and letting J. Michael Stracynski do a Trek series in 2006. I think JMS's talent is exactly what Trek news to revitalize itself.

I'm not really into the new BSG that much for some reason. I mean it looks like a good show but I never really was a big BSG fan even from the 1980 version. BTW, to the people that went off topic please try to stay on topic or this thread may die. Since I don't see comparisons between BSG and Enterprise this thread is being moved to the main Entertainment forum.

I liked the last episode, however the one before was kind of dull... I don't care about a story that is just centered around scaring someone into admitting that he believes in god.
