land is waaaayyy better! you get loads of buildings and stuff and you dont lose your troops amongst asteroids... i also like the land vehicles more than the ships. oh yes and theres reinforcement points and heroes not in ships and bombing runs and yeeesssss its so much more fun that space.

I would like to see land battles more in the style of command and conquer battles (great graphics, destructible enviroment, interactive enviroment, air fighters and gunships), then they would be equal

you obviously haven't played any other land rts.... check out dawn of war, once you play that, you'll wish land battles in EaW were that kickass.

Personally, space is all EaW has, the land is broken. "let me shoot squads of infantry that are 50 feet away, but we can't bash them with swords/guns" honestly eaw would be better if there wasn't land battles

Tell me, How many units use Melee attacks in the Stars Wars Movies besides Jedi?

Re: Space vs Land

Space because of bigger pop-cap and nicer ships, plus land mode looks and feels like crap, no craters and big explosions, not to mention land is unbalanced.

Re: Space vs Land

Not in the movies, but play KOTOR and you'll see just how useful a vibroblade is opposed to a blaster (to be fair a lot of the reason is that the blasters are shown to be ridiculously inaccurate, to the point where it can be hilarious with just how often you miss a target ten feet in front of you.) Main advantage besides being able to hit the broad side of a barn is that the melee weapons seem to go right through personal energy shields and do a lot more damage. The extremely short ranges of EaW are indeed ridiculous, and even for gameplay purposes (can't have them shooting across the map) could use quite a bit of work.
