Rescue Atrexian engineer help

I cannot figure out how to reroute the power conduit to rescue the Axtrixian engineer. The upper right power conduit is shorted no matter what you rotate.

Start off by making sure that NONE of the circutis are touching the red dots. NONE!! all of the circuits backs must be turned to the red dots before you can actually start working. hope that helps. oh and where can you see the rest of these threads? they get deleted so quickly...

gquiring July 3rd, 2003 10:19 AM

That's my point there is no way to make the upper right conduit not touch a red connector.

hello yes July 3rd, 2003 10:32 AM

ahhhh i see...

forgot about that...

i beat it, just try not to use that one. if you have to though (i dont remeber, im on the last level) tell me, and ill try it for you. me and my frend had a lot of trouble with that too.

gquiring July 3rd, 2003 10:41 AM

Are you saying that you do not attempt to fix the power? I don't understand.

hello yes July 3rd, 2003 10:47 AM

ok...

this is tough to explain... for me this was like a day ago....

you have to make all of the circuits blue to the left side of that one, then connect them. the game knows that you cant move it, and if you come at it from the left, move the one on the right, it'll go styraight to the end. trust me. i dont how or why it does that, it just does.

hello yes July 3rd, 2003 10:49 AM

im sorry im cant explain it to you in more detail, but im not good at those stupid things...

I've included the image and have placed arrows pointing to the piece that you need to make sure that it is not connecting to the piece above it. The flow must go straight under the three red in the upper corner. The blue will not go up to the red when it passes through the + shaped piece, it will simple pass through it. I hope that this helps.

And honestly, it took me several tries before I picked up on that.:agreed:

hello yes July 3rd, 2003 11:06 AM

thanks thats what i meant lol

It's hard

Okay it took me a while to get this but try to understand this. The 4 way intersection piece is not a 4 way intersection, it actually to straight piec over each other.

Just look at the pieces closely, if you do it right only the horizontal section light up. I might have confused you, sorry, but if it makes you feel better it took me like a half hour to do it.

Lt. Commander Tuvok July 3rd, 2003 11:32 AM

Sorry my diagrams got messed up, up there.
just read my words. :D

gquiring July 3rd, 2003 11:41 AM

Now you made me feel worse! I have been trying for well over an hour and still don't get it. Is it an over 40 thing??

hello yes July 3rd, 2003 11:56 AM

im 13!! i did it!!

This is a really difficult thing to explain. :uhm:

Basically you have to understand that power doesn't just flow down all possible routes in these circuits, it follows a directed path depending upon the orientation of the 3-way (T-piece) junctions. These junctions have a little arrow inside them that points down the middle route, this is the direction in which power will flow from the junction.

The unmoveable cross junctions (+ shaped) don't send power out in all four directions, only in the opposite direction to which the power came in from.

So with the Attrexian engineer puzzle you have to arrange the T-piece junctions top right of the puzzle so that they send the power around in a circle and send it to the target rather than up into one of the short circuits.

Flippin eck it's hard to put into words!

I want to thank everyone for their help. I put the game down for awhile came back with a fresh start and got it. I never would have figured this out on my own.

Thanks you
Gary

Yeah those constant puzzles are annoying. That was the hardest one I've done so fat (I'm up to the mission after the attrexian base.)

The other thing that pisses me off is constantly having to protect people. uggg.
