Yeah the fast travel is somewhat a cheap feat making the gameplay loose some replayablity value.
If they took that out they'd have to find good reason to make the roaming around large enviorments more entertaining for the player.

i dont think they need to take it out all together maybe reintroduce travel methods like silt strider's boats ect and have a fast travel system maybe limited to if you own a horse and only on the main tracks and roads all the relatively safe destinations saddlebags on horses ould also limit the amount of ferrying you need to do to get things you find back to wherever you want to take them

bring back silt strider's and boats for travel between the big towns then have fast travel along all the major roads and tracks then you own a horse give horses saddle packs and then there is less need for ferrying things

Yeah that would be pretty sick.
I'd really like to see people getting ingame drunk and pissing all overthemselfs thinking the piss is holy water and start praying on teh piss singing songs and laughing.

Elements from Morrowind (travel, world size, amount of quests, huge amount of class customization, etc.) merged with Oblivion's graphics (or better), combat, and physics, and you'd have the (potentially) perfect RPG.

The thing that really got my goat in oblivion was the fact that they trimmed off so many skills and included such a limited amount of vanilla armour and weapons. It just felt like they were aiming for a casual audience, alienating the longtime TES fans in the process.
