| Morrowind's story > Oblivion's story Morrowind's evironment > Oblivion's environment (I mean in uniqueness, not graphics.) Oblivion's combat > Morrowind's combat Oblivion's graphics > Morrowinds graphics Which game you like depends on how/why you play. If you play for the fun and thrill of combat with pretty environments then Oblivion is better by a long shot. If you play for an interesting in depth story with an interesting and unique environment then Morrowind is better by a long shot. Morrowind takes a bit more imagination and patience to play, but is just as good as (in my opinion, better than) Oblivion.

| The advantage of more exotic environments by morrowind is somewhat muted by the Shivering isles expansion. Mania has some unique environments.

| there's your problem. I bought Morrowind for PC originally and loved it, but then my computer crashed and i had to make do with the xbox version, which is horrendous and can't compare in the slightest to the PC version (clunky controls, crappier visuals). The graphics were smoother on the PC, and there are many mods changing the "brownish" colour to more attractive colours as well as improving various aspects of the game (combat, graphics, etc. plus changing the ashlands to grass and trees). TES has always been a PC oriented series, and as such they're going to pour more time and effort into making a quality game on the PC then on the consoles. |

people will buy it. Look at Civ4, for example. That has sold millions of copies. And as recently as April 2008, was STILL in the #9 slot of most PC games sold for March. Considering that the game was released in 2005, I would say that that shows that the PC market isn't full of disappointing profits.

| BHD, there's a lot of angst on the topic of Oblivion, but I really honestly think that neither Morrowind or Oblivion can survive with out mods. The community were the ones who gave those games reputation and credibility. I've been in that community since 2004, and the whole thing about "only noobs like Oblivion" isn't the right approach to take and is downright elitist, it's just the issues with the game's atmosphere and leveled scaling that created differences, but again, mods have tended to always jump on Beth's flaws. We had some discussion on this topic awhile back and numerous times over on the TES forums. There's been a lot of speculation as to whether Beth will take the last step and cash out with an MMO, or keep going with this general format. Either way, I'm not sure if they'll do all of the Tamriel continent, or go with an individual province- we still have Elsweyr, Black Marsh, Skyrim, and Summerset Isle. Hammerfell and High Rock were portrayed partially in Daggerfall. Then they have Akavir in the East they've never touched, which they hinted at the Nerevarine going to. Then they could do the whole continent, whether it's province by province through expansions, or all at once. Obviously it would have to be significantly compressed in scale... Meh, by the time TES V comes out, I think I really won't be playing video games that much by then.

| BHD CIV series is already renowned way back when piracy wasn't so serious, so it had already got a following. It's hard to make decent sales from PC these days, most PC tittles are lucky if they can hit a million in sales. Commisar yeah I agree it Bethesta take time making their games so I would expect TES V until 2013.
