Oblivion help plz
 

In Oblivion when doing the mage guild quest for Irveno or someone like that you need to go to Vahtacen. In Vahtacen you have to somehow move a pillar with spells. I can not figure it out. I have casted the fire spell and then the frost spell but after that I do not know what to do. Thanks for any help!

All the spells you need are in that chest next to Denel. One is a magicka drain while the other is a magicka fortify spell.

You would be better off posting this in the Elder Scrolls subforum.

I know the quest you mean, that large pillar in an Ayleid Ruin. You have to cast the spells in exactly the right order (You can find out which ones to cast by asking the guy to translate the inscriptions on the wall for you). When done correctly, the pillar will sink into the ground to reveal a stairwell. It's a matter of trial and error, really.

In case you haven't learned the appropriate spells there is a large chest full of single-shot scrolls in the ante-chamber.

Well I have the spells but after I cast the fire and cold spell any other spell i cast makes it go up and attack me. I tried the magicka raising spell on the pillars and I tried the lowering magicka spell but both of them made the piller go back to normal.

I just did this part of the mages guild yesterday, so I believe it was the damaging one first, then the magicka healing spell. But if that's wrong, it's just the other way around, so a quick reload will have you ready to cast again.

Yeah, now good luck getting through that dungeon. :p

(I need to play more Oblivion...I've only completed the Mages Guild and Dark Brotherhood so far. =x)

I got through the doungeon and am now a Wizard in the mages guild. Tommorrow I am hoping to finish the mages guild and start on the Dark Brotherhood.
