What really happened in the Battle of Red Mountain?

In the game Morrowind there are two different storys on the Battle of Red Mountain. I personally think that Vivec's story is more likely. In the common story it says the tribunal did a poisoned ceremony to kill the Nerevarine, then killed Dagoth Ur themsleves. How can that be true if Dagoth Ur says that your character, the reincarnate of the Nerevarine, killed him many years ago? That is where Vivecs account seems truthful. He also admits that he, Sotha Sil, and Almalexia did do the wrong thing and made themselves gods with the tools. He admits that it is thier fault Azura cursed the Chimmer. I have heard that one of the previous ElderScrolls games involved Dagoth Ur in the main story. Maybe this game will give us a hint or even tell us what really happened in the battle. Has anyone played the first two?

hmmm.... well what i thought what happened, according to what i read, was that Nerevar asked Dagoth Ur to guard the Heart of Lorkhan until he and the Tribunal got back, and the Heart Corrupted him and all that rot, then Nerevarine and the Tribunal all arrived, fought with him (he had god powers, they didn't) and Nerevar was wounded during the fight. after they defeated Ur, what i think is that the Tribunal killed Nerevar, then made themselves gods.
and so far, it hasn't.
ive heard stuff in game that House Redoran is being held under siege by the Solsthiem Nords with Merc Orcs, and that the Nerevarine is off on some journey, and in the Mehrunes Razor plugin released by Bethesda you explore a HUGE Ayleid ruin occupied by a Telvanni Mage and his minions, encounter a Morag Tong assasain (!!!!) and get Mehrunes Razor, which now sports a unique model and the ability to one-shot kill. i love it

The first two games are great!!! (there are a total of 10 games. arena, daggerfall, battlespire, redguard, morrowind, shadowkey, dawnstar, stormhold, oblivion mobile, oblivion) I love them much better than morrowind and oblivion!

Dagoth Ur isn't in the other games. They all have very different storylines...arena you have to stop some crazy wizard from making a staff...in daggerfall you can stop this giant golem thing being created, or create it yourself or in redguard where your sister is kidnaped or in battlespire where the mages training area is attacked...they are all very different!

In arena red mountain was named dagoth ur, maybe thats what you are thinking but the actual person Lord Voryn Dagoth only appeared in Morrowind.
