Vampire Cure Quest - What's Wrong With My Grand Stones?

Hi,

I just got the game the other day and i'm currently trying to get rid of this damn vampire illness.

I've had a read of the main Vampire Cure Quest thread and can't find the problem answered in there. It's starting to get soo annoying now, that i'm considering stopping playing the game completely, as i don't want to go through the hours again.

What i would like to know is.. Just what is wrong with my Grand Stones. I've got 5 of them. 4 of them i stole out of display cases, and one of which i got from going through a mine located near the old witches house (the witch that is suppose to cure you). So i wait for night to fall and take my stones to the old lady. 3 of my stones are empty (it says "none" next to them). and the other 2 have some power left in them. What i want to know is...

"is there a way of getting the juice out of the grand stone, without losing the stone all together. I've tried putting the power into a cruddy staff i found, but the stone dissapears all together".

When i speak to the old lady with my mis-matched stones. she just asks if i have them, and it doesn't give me an option other than "no i don't". Surely she would be able to empty them...


Can someone please help?

Find an enchanted item and select the soul gem in your inventory,then recharge the item,it'll rid the soul gem of all it's power,no matter how little is used to recharge the item.

I've tried that, but the stones disapear for good. They neither end up on the floor nor in my inventory as "None" types.

I'm getting even more annoyed now. I've literally spent the last 6 hours going to every town in the game, sneeking around the Mages and Fighters Guilds, AND ALL of the shops, in EVERY city. Inlcuding Impirial City. I've now collected a measly 8 Grand Soul Stones, 4 of which are Empty (:none) 2 are 'petty' and 2 are 'Grand'. *stress ball breaks into a million pieces*

So what type of weapon do you suggest i use to take all the enegy out of it. I've got 3 that i can 'power up' using the stones, but like i said.. the stone just disapears.

Any help.. please, i really need it.. i've been going out of my mind picking locks for the last half a dozen hours. Some of those 5* difficulty ones took me about 15 minutes a try, constant saving and reloading with 1 pick.

You need to have empty grand soul gem things, it was annoying for me too, i had 4, but like 3 of them were occupied and using them destroys the whole stone not just the soul inside... But its a quest worth doing, Infinite gold after !!!!
And you can buy 1 or 2 empty ones from the mages guild, otherwise go in search for the random dungeons.. Good luck!

Wait, yeh. That's what is most likely. I've just tried again to drain all my stones energy, but like you said they just dissapear. I wondered at first if it was because all the ones that have energy are all the ones with the 'stolen' red hand on them. Is there a way (just for later reference) that i can turn things off the Red Hand symbol, or do they just disapear after a while.


Also, how do you mean Buy at the Mages Guild?? Which one, all of them? Who do i speak to? Do i need to speak to someone in particular in there in the same way you'd speak to store owner?? This is really frustrating me, can anyone gimme a quick answer, cos i wanna get this vampirism out of the way before i go to bed tonight.

speak to the alchemist person, and i dont think you can remove the red hand, but u can sell those things on to the thieves guild.. and yes infinite money, cos some other guy needs the potion too and its glitched so you can claim the reward as many times as you like.. people in the imperial city might sell them as well, stuff like the gilded caraffe but im not sure, i think you can get one at the arcane university aswell and u shuld take some time to get good at lock picking, its worth, i used to go round with 1 pick and save then keep loading til i did it- not worth, there are actual ways round it by i count, like 1 wont stay up long enough and 2 will, or after a while of doing it they will alternate between a bit where u can pick it and then one where u cant.

Yeh i've been using that exact same method. It's funny how they seem to alternate, but sometimes i swear you can make them always do the fast spring thing just by pushing up hard on the mouse, though i could just be going crazy. I kinda like the way they've done the lock picking, but it does get a little repative, and i'm still not sure what i'm doing... only just got it the other day, bit of a newbie.

I'll have a look around in the place you suggested. All i need is this last one. Anyone else got any ideas where they remember seeing one.

Try doing Meridia's quest to clear out a cave of necromancers,you'll find a shitload of grand soul gems there(but i was level 13 on my first go through,level 7 on my other profile so it may vary)
