Whats the best mage build? I always sucked at mage builds, whats the best race/skills/star combination? For Oblivion, of course.

euh dark and high elves are pretty good.
Birthsign: euh I gues 'mage'
skills if you make them custom: destruction, illusion,mysticism,alchemy,...

It kind of depends on what type of mage you want to be there are battlemages,other mages, and euh...other mages...

Yes they do, perhaps yo could choose a Breton. Or whichever one of the elves that is good. Maybe a Dark Elf.

Is the sign of the Mage worth it, or is the 100% weakness to magic too difficult to overcome?

My bad, the sign of the Apprentice is the one that gives you 100% weakness to magic. Is it really that big of a weakness, or is the Mage better since I don't get a weakness, but get 50 less points of magic?

I have the race worked out, but I still don't know what schools of magic are best for a straight mage
