Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Let's all face a fact. The cure vampire thing is a real pain in the ass. First off you have to locate this bitch living in the forest. Travelling for about 15 minutes you think thats it now i can get rid of this shit. But hell no. Now you have to find these 5 gems. Searching all around the tombs and ruins gathering 5 damn gems, or going to the mage shop, whatever. Then after searching for this shit about 2 hours you think, finally this shit is behind me. Hell damn no. Now you have to go look for the hardest pain in the ass shit things you could ever dream about. Some plant from oblivion, stab som local, grochery shopping, flowerpicking in the forest and messing with the baddest fucking vampire ever. What the fuck! All i did was killing a few vampires for the emperor and i get this shit? |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Thanks to the earlier walkthrough and the and game's strategy guide, I finally completed the Cure Vampirism quest! It definitely took up a sizeable chunk of time. I'm not so ticked that the cure quest was so tedious, but I am pretty ticked that it wasn't more apparent that you'd have to go through all this to get rid of vampirism. I mean, I didn't even know I had gotten it before it was too late (I saw a message about a bad dream, but I didn't know what it meant). At any rate, for those who CHOOSE to be a vampire, I can understand that they would have to go through this quest in order to get rid of it if they so choose. However, there should be a very clear message saying that if you don't cure yourself within 3 days of contracting it, it will be pretty-much permanent unless you go through this quest. That said, I have a question: Now that I have taken the cure, what happens if I get it again? The lady that made the cure said she could make more, so is it as simple as going back to her if you get it again and she'll make more, or do you have to go through the whole soul gem and ingredient hunt for her to make more if you get it again (which could be harder the second time around)? Hopefully, now that she has made the cure, you could get more if you get it again! |

Extract the file to: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data Then launch the game and choose Data Files, from there check VampireCurePotions 1.0.esp (Player File). Go get your potion :) |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Thanks for the help. Maybe now i can finally cure my ass off this vampire curse.. |

Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest I've got a very annoying problem, if anyone could help i would be very grateful. I've collected the 5 [empty] grand gems and most of the other ingredients, too but I can't talk to the witch because I accidentally burgled her earlier on in the game. Now she just summons monsters and won't even talk to me. How can I get her to like/talk to me. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest you guys should have cured yourselfs at a chapel when you were infected. There are huge drawbacks to be being a vampire. but also great pluses |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest I found a solution to my problem. I just knocked the witch unconscious (easier said than done) and when she woke up she had nothing against me other than I was tresspassing in her basement. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Luckily I havent reached far in the game (at least I dont think so) and I got a few good peices of good armour and weapons I dont mind losing . So I think I will just start over, now I know how to simply avoid being a vampire :) Thnx everyone this is some the best help I ever got. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest I got the Dark Brotherhood Vampire to change me (yep that's instant vampirism, no disease). I asked him how to get the cure and I assumed the count he spoke about would already have a cure and that I could just see how it went and get rid of it if i get fed up of sucking blood. How wrong I was, I nearly stabbed the little old which when she asked for 5 grand soul gems.. Don't get me wrong, the attribute bonuses and skills you get from being a vampire are great, but having to feed pisses me off. (it's not easy being a vampire, is it guys?) I have 2 grand soul gems so far, and she's gonna ask me for more stuff when I finally get 5? Ok well after she gives me the cure i'm slitting her throat. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Well now that i've researched a few areas over again i know the locations of most soul gems and where you can buy some.At the Chorrol mages guild hall you can find 2 to 3 grand soul gems in the display case next to the shelf in the room to your left.2 grand soul gems can be bought from the High elf usually at the counter to the left in the Cheydinhal Mages guild hall. That should be all you need for the soul gems.Oh and to remove a charge from a soul gem select it in your inventory then just use it on any enchanted weapon that needs charging. |

Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest I used ~TCL to go through the wall and once I got through, the count wont even talk to me. I can't complete "Aid for Bruma" and my game has kind have come to a hault. Is there anyway I can restart this quest or get the count to like, talk to me? |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest I cured my vampirism. For 5 grand soul gems you'll need to do alot of lockpicking.. of "Very Hard" locks..in the mages guild halls in each town. I usually saved my game before trying each one. So buy alot of lockpicks and have at it. They won't all be empty but usually there is 1 in the display cases that is (at least you can use them to recharge your enchanted weapons!). You can also buy one from the magic store in the market district, not "discount spells" the one close to "The best defence" 2 stores to it's left as you face it. You can find 4 of the 5 nightshade leaves in a food store in the market district of the imperial city, can't remember what it's called, something like "The right ingredients" or something. I snuck in and stole them, (after finding more south of the west weald first, that's where i got the rest of mine). Garlic is easy to find, find alchemists and most will sell you some. Blood of an argonion is a pain but not so bad, i stabbed the one training in the arena district (outside the arena).I payed the fine for doing it, and got all of my stolen goods back from the evidence chest. It's either that or find one out in the wilderness to stab (or kill if need be) Blood grass is found only in the planes of oblivion, and it's everywhere. So for gods sake don't complete the main quest before you think about curing your vampirism. :P (I have the xbox 360 version and i turned the blood grass in first after handing in the soul gems, didn't have a problem with the old woman) And well the "powerfull" vampire will be pointed out to you with a market on your map, he's not so tough :) Quote:

Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest If you guys want, i can make a mod that places some vampire-disease healers in the game, which sell potions to get cured. Though i want to make it to much cheat-mod so the price can be fairly high... |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Meh, the mod already exists -.- |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Totally F'ing ownt. Period |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Hi all, I have a different problem altogether... I have completed the vampire cure quest and recieved the cures from the witch.... The problem is that when I drink the potion I does not cure me at all!!! I still cannot go out in the day time, or I toast. I have given the cure to the counts bint, and she dies, but it does nothing on me... am I doing something wrong or is this another error in the game, and is there a sollution. I have tryed different things but nothing works. Thanks in advance for any help 80) |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest I'm not sure if this is the case, but try driking some blood before downing the potion.I believe the potion only cures you one "level" of vampirism,so if you haven't drank any blood in a few days that may be your problem, but again,i'm not sure. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Pardon me if this bumping an old topic, but i just can't seem to find help anywhere else. If I can get help on this issue my activity here will more than double. You all seem very knowledgable, so please here my question. After the old woman tells me she needs 24 hours to complete the potion, i go and rest in a bed somewhere and wait for nightfall. Afterwards I skip over to her house, and find that shes down in the basement. I waited, and waited and waited. She will not emerge from the basement. I cant quick wait in her house because im tresspassing, and i cant wait outside or ill die. How do i get this women out of her hole. I want those potions. Im playing it on the 360. If that helps any. |

Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Okay, i'm having problems with the same vampire cure quest, but my problem is not one i've read on the first two pages of this. I'm a vampire at the moment and i've done everything that's been suggested to me. I'm in the old lady/witches house with 5 grand stones. She gets out of bed and asks "have you got the stones" (of which i do, but..) The only Speech option i can reply with is "No, not yet" or something like that. and then she replies.. "oh what a shame, etc" then goes back to bed. I've got 5, but 2 are not empty it seems. This is where i got my 5 stones. 1. i went to those caves just next to her house, at the end of the caves there was a skeleton guard and on a rock formation there was a grand stone. I took it and spent about 20 minutes searching that place for another stone or two, but no more. 2,3 and 4 i got from the Arcane Univeristy. Picked the lock and stole them. 5th one i did the same but stole from the Mages guild in Chorrol. So i've got a total of 5. 4 are stolen, 1 isn't. 2 of them however aren't 'Empty'. How can i empty the stones without losing them.. cos i've put the power into some crap staff i found, but then the stone dissapears. Someone please help. Thank you. |
Re: [spoilers] the vamprism the sucking the gliven :gpost: I got all my grand soul gems from caves around the witches house including -crayfish cave -nornal (elvish ruins) -squandered mine (just up the hill) ISNT VAMPRISM ANNOYING!!! |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest you must be good at lock picking to get through very hard Im terrible is there any tricks to it that ive missed |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest ive just posted this in another thead. I found three grand soul gems all around her house (well nearby anyway) in theese caves -crayfish cave -nornal (elvish ruins) -squandered mine hope that helped but hey just helpin a fellow victim of VAMPRISM!!! |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Just so you know i believe there is an ayleid statue in nornal as well(as always though my memory is horrible :( ).Also there is a certain trick to lockpicking, and that happens to be sound.Though it may not always seem like it,the tumblers to rise and fall at different speeds, and you want to try and lock the tumbler in place when it makes that slower sound.I can't really display it without sound but to put it in words, when it goes fast it makes a sound like "chink" and when it goes slow it sounds more like "cha-chink" and it's a bit slower. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest This may have been a one time glitch or may have already been posted, if yes to either of these forgive me. This was for the PC, could work for 360 too After I finally completed this stupid vampire cure quest, I first cured myself, which was a relief, then I went to get my reward from the count after giving him the other part of the potion.... he said because I was already cured that he'd give me a monetary award, and then gave me 500 cash. after It got in there i just kept clicking on the reward chat topic and kept getting 500 everytime (I went up to over 100,000 and stopped because it got boring, but check it out) |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest thanks cloud rulez! did you get my message the other night. or someone here might now so ill say, after I had 1 grand soul gem I went back to give it to the witch and it was at night (for obvios resons) and she was sleeping and woke up when I got in there and she said get out get out and started to kill me so I just got out of there and when I came back with 5 gems she still hated me and so I cant give them to her so I cant get cured anyone got any ideas. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Try boosting your personality and charming the old hag, then try and persuade her to raise her disposition. |
Vampirism i got bitten in the game and i don't want to play as a vampire, is there any way to counter the effects of vampirism or any way to get rid of it or am i stuck with it for the rest of the game |
Re: Vampirism Lol everyone always fucking posts a new thread about vampirism!Well to answer your question, yes, there is a way to cure it,but it's a bitch, maaaany glitches involved.First off speak to Raminus Polus at the Arcane university. He'll direct you to an old woman who can cure you of it,but it will take some item gathering.Make it your active quest also so you have a marker telling you where the woman is,as the location won't be marked.Or you can simply download the vampirecurepotions mod.Hope that helps you. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Question: Do the Grand Soul Gem's need to be filled? Or empty? I'm under the assumption that they need to be filled. |
Re: Vampirism Thanks allot, I've started the quest, was a pain to find the ingredients for the potion. Killing the vampire was the easy part. Also a pain to find five empty great soul gems (had to use cheat as finding them in daylight is next to impossible and could not find them to steal). So i got the ingredients for the potion, and as I was going back to the old lady's house, my sister comes in and asks me to show her the different races. I do the cheat to show the race menu (showracemenu) and it turns out that if you do anything in the race menu it will cure your vamparism ; ). |
Re: Vampirism Yea lol, someone just posted that recently and i remembered when he brought it up. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest No,they need to be empty. You can find some in the Arcane university i believe and there should be 2 or 3 in the Chorrol mages guild hall. |

Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Yes,you can pray at any altar or use a cure disease potion.Until you sleep it's totally curable. Also,i've found you don't actually have to wait 3 days to sleep to become a vampire. If you sleep any time after getting porphyric hemophilia you will become one. |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Hey guys any1 can help me I did al the stuff got the soul gems, garlic, bloodgrass, nightshade, blood and the ashes of the great valpire. But I gave em all but now she says that I dont have the ashes? Does any1 know the cheat to get the ashes? Because It really suck to be a vampire :( |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest The Oblivion guide says you can buy them at Felen Relas in Anvil, Ardaline in Bravil, Selena Orania in Bruma, Eilonwy in Cheydinhal, Angalmo in Chorral, and Alves Uvenim in Leyawiin. All of the people listed are at the mages guild. They all sell Grand soul gems. One in also in the basement of the house the women is. There are 3 cloves of garlic in Jauffre's desk in the library at Weynon Priory and three more are in a bowl on the shelves at the other end of the room. There is loose bloodgrass in just two locations in cyrodiil one is in the last quest of the Dark BrotherHood you only one shot at that. The other is on a table high up in the temple of the Emperor Zero aka Fathis Aren's Tower south of Bravil. Or just go into a gate of Oblivion and pick it up there. Nightshade is found on a display table at The Main Ingredent shop in the Market district which contains 4 portions of it. And you can go to the Chorral mages guild and look in the second story library and it is a decoration on the dinnertable. The Blood can be any argonian's blood in the hostile or not. Vampire ashes can be found at Redwater Slough on the eastern reaches of the Panther River. The vampire lair is as small as dungeons go. If you are a good lockpicker make a left at the first T intersection then you will be where he is imprisoned. He is behind a 5 tumbler lock. He is 5 levels above you. And if you beat him to his weapon in the coffin he will have to fight unarmed. take his ashes and peek in the coffin if you get the right roll you will find tons of stuff inside. then you get two potions one for Ronaa Hassildor so head back to Cheydiinhal and go to the chaber of lost and there ya go. I hope this helps you guys. :smokin: |
Re: [spoilers] Help, Oblivion vampire cure quest Yes,but the only problem is that there are so many bugs involved with the vampire cure quest it's not even funny. |
