Cannot join online games
 

i finally (after about 15 attepmts) got all 3 patches to install but now i cant join any online games. when ever i try to join one it just says couldnt connect becuase host cannot be found.... but i tunred off my firewall and im connected to the internet. anyone have any ideas?

yer i found it i read everything but some of it i didnt understand and that website that gives you a static ip adress didnt work becuase i couldnt connect to the internet after i changed it... Ohhh well i guesss im just not meant to play online

and can you host normallly?

And what firewall are you using.

It's settings tend to actualyl often bugger even when turned off

just go to the relic forums search and ports or port checker

I've used the port checker, everything's fine according to that, and I still get the same message. :P

what's your precise problem?
It may be that other's don't have it and thus you can't join untill you randomly make a game.

This means it should be all fine. (apart from NAT, and that's only for AFTER I've joined a game)

Then I go to Multiplayer, I log in, and I click the join game button, and it comes up with a list of games, right?
Then when i try to join one, a window saying Connecting... comes up, and after a long time, it comes up with
Now, I cant figure out what's wrong, because a long long time ago I played online, but I cant remember what I might have changed to make me unable to connect to a game.

Yeah, I disabled them, both the Windows one and the Router one, no result.

EDIT:
It turns out I can join some games, but not others, for some strange reason, which I havent yet figured out yet.
And I can create games as well, though the fact that nobody joins isnt really my fault...

well yu may create them, but no one can see them..

Well, Im pretty sure people can see them, like after I created a new game someone joined, but then left

then i tik it in the exceptions list all my problems went away! EX for lag lol

Yes, but it wouldnt matter in any case, I can join some games, but not the majority. And in any case, I turned off my firewall, and it made no difference.

I used to think I had a problem when I got this message but really it was because they didn't have a good ping/latency towards me :p So maybe changing chat rooms or hosting your own game will help
