It is worth noting though that the Tau mod has been going on for a long time! It also plays completely differently from what we've seen of the Dark Crusade Tau. Also the mod team would NOT use any of the DC Tau, just like Relic has not used any of the Tau mods Tau. If a mod team wishes to make the Tau playable for WA then Relic may want to complain but as it is a concept provided by Games Workshop then it is open to all, within certain limits.

Besides the mod is freeware, and as such should only increase people's wishes to play Relics Tau. DC will contain ALOT more than just the Tau, a new campain with 7 different storylines, and the Necrons, anyone of which would make it buying DC worth it. Finally if Relic had any concerns with the Tau mod, of which I am not a member, they will have spoken to them. They do know about all the mods after all!

I personally am looking forward to DC versions of various mods, especially the DemonHunter and Witch Hunter mods, to say nothing of the AI mods! Hopefully they'll begin to come out around Christmas just after everyone's finished at least one DC campain!

i think the tau team are bitter about relics choice of team to make and so are actually going to compete with DC for fun factor

the mod will be rereleased after the expansion with new units/models and balances to make up for all races new units
