| Hi Just started playing Resurrection of Evil. Can anyone tell me why the game takes about 4 to 5 mins to load-up? Doom 3 (the original) never took this length of time. I have a powerful PC, graphics card, memory etc. Hope someone can help. Many thanks Runedog |

| Usually RoE loads at the same speed as the original doom3.. Even in some maps quicker.. Try to defragment your hard drive and/or extract your pk4 files of RoE. Good luck. |

| Yup, defrag the drive properly. Slow loading is often due to fragmentation of the game files. It also helps to run disk cleanup before the defrag to get rid of junk files (temp, IE cache etc) that are taking up space. Use Ccleaner for disk cleanup. It's free. Download from CCleaner - Home For disk defrag, I use Diskeeper 2008 pro: it's fast and defrags automatically when the system is idle. Keeps the 3 drives perfectly defragmented. It ain't free, but trialware can be got from http://www.diskeeper.com |

| There's nothing wrong with the standard Windows defragger, especially on Vista. I have it scheduled to run every night at around 3 in the morning, it keeps things in good shape.
