Default System settings advice for an Old Guy

First off, sorry if this is OT, please point me in the right direction if so.

I'd really appreciate some advice on how to optimize my system for Doom3. I want to kick some butt when the family comes for the holidays so I better figure this out soon.

System: Athlon 3200+ oc'd 15%, Asus A7N8X-E, 1 gig DDR dual 3200, NVidia PNY6800GT, SPDIF out to receiver, DVI to Samsung 61" DLP.

What I'm most interested in are the best settings for the video card like anisotropic and antialiasing adjustments. Also, native resolution on my DLP is 1280x760, can the game be tweaked to this resolution? Any and all words of wisdom will be most appreciated!

I think the game can go up to 1280x1024, I don't know.
As for Anti-Aliasing, there's an in-game option for that.
Anisotropic filtering...well, experiment with it. You've got a very good machine, it should run well. Try 8x or the max your card can handle. If it lags, decrease it a bit, until it fits perfectly.

Have fun.

if you can't find the advice you need with this thread, try reffering to this one. i'd merge them but i'm lazy.

Thread moved to the 'Help' forum.

The thread linked above is becoming rather outdated, since it's topic is still "Will my computer run Doom 3??." We should soon give serious thought to starting another new thread for advice on system building and specifications for running Doom 3 for those who do not yet own the game, since it is already out. That old thread is likely soon to be closed.
