HELP: Doom Won't Start, Keeps Searching for CD-ROM
Machine:
AMD 2800
512MB DDR
ATI 9800 Pro
Partitions: C (small boot part), D (main drive)
I have installed DOOM III on D: on my machine. When I try to run the game it asks that I put DOOM III Disk 1 in the CD-ROM. Problem is, it's already there. The game can just never find it. The CD-Drive is working fine.
Re: HELP: Doom Won't Start, Keeps Searching for CD-ROM
I installed it fine, and no it isn't a burned copy.
It show up as in the CD-ROM drive, but when I pop it in, the flash screen comes up with the options of Play, Uninstall, Quit, etc., then I choose Play. The computer then displays the message (Cannot locate DOOM 3 Disk 1) "Please insert DOOM 3 Disk 1, select OK and restart application." But the correct CD is in the drive.
Re: HELP: Doom Won't Start, Keeps Searching for CD-ROM

Re: HELP: Doom Won't Start, Keeps Searching for CD-ROM
I have exactly the same problem. do you have details of exactly which file needs to be copied and to where please.
This is bugging me now. I have to play on my laptop as it seems to work fine there ?
Re: HELP: Doom Won't Start, Keeps Searching for CD-ROM
I have the very same problem. It keeps asking for "Disk 1" even if it's already there. I'll look into the .exe solution and hope for the best.
I got the "large box" version from Sam's Club, assuming the content is as legit as any ;-)
