icon_question Where's Kaiser?

Does anyone know what happened to Kaiser's mod series "Escape From Deimos"?
No news/updates for months, and now his Kaiser's Vault site button has been removed from the Doom3 FileFront page. I'd hate to think that his series has been discontinued - the parts he released were awesome!

Wow - really disappointed to hear that he's "retired" from mapping.

Hopefully he'll come out of retirement someday soon - at least long enough to finish the "Escape from Deimos" maps - they set the standard as far as I'm concerned.

First of all I'd like to thank the staff for deleteing all of my files (including files that I have backed up frequently) without even notifying me.

Anyways, I never said that I 'retired'. I just took a really long break from it. I was a bit steamed about a job interview at timegate studios that caused me to lose motivation on doom3 mapping. So I just quietly stopped and turned my interest to work with wxWidgets applications and GBA programming which I am still doing today, as well as having fun learning the linux operating system. So I've been pretty busy doing other stuff

A few weeks ago I've started a rough draft on Sigma Quadrant 2 and I do have plans to work on the map in a few more weeks (or whenever I complete my other projects). I've been planning out this map for a while (right after I released Sigma Quadrant 1) but didn't have any ideas or motivation to work on it.

I am surprised that I've been missed.. which is wierd.

But just in case anyone has been wondering about my site, I've had plans to setup a new site on mancubus.net but I haven't really decided just yet..

this is a sig

Thumbs up Re: Where's Kaiser?

Whew!!! Kaiser, it's great to hear that you're still mapping and plan to continue your series! I'm really looking forward to the next installment, but I'll wait as long as necessary to see it - if the quality is as good as the previous maps, I know I won't be disappointed.

Sorry that your site got blown away without any warning, but if you do end up creating a new site, please post the URL here so we'll all be aware.

Your maps rock and definitely keep the Doom 3 singleplayer experience fresh for many of us! Keep 'em coming!

Best of luck!
