| Hello everyone! ![]() Have you ever wanted to know how to make images like this? ![]() ![]() Well, this tutorial is going to help you make some. This time we are going to go over an intermediate-level Apophysis Tutorial. Now, before we start, i need you to do 2 things: 1. Read my previous tutorial, as this will help you get to know what the functions of each thing does. Apophysis Tutorial (Making a Wallpaper) 2. Download my compilation pack of gradients, programs, and scripts. This is not only for use here, but it will also give you an edge to people that have not spent time searching the internet for resources. Here: http://files.filefront.com/ber_Apoph.../fileinfo.html Now just to clarify on some stuff. Quote:

Now, hopefully you have read that previous tutorial, as you might get lost if you didn't. Step 1: Go to www.apophysis.org and install version 2.02. This is just to get the whole folder for your program, so that you can have a setup like mine, despite using a newer version. If you wish to just get along without scripts, just skip this part. But i have it set up this way and it works, very well. Step 2: Open it up. just click on the Apophysis 2.03a icon and you should get this: ![]() Boring huh? Well, not to worry, it will get better. Step 3: Go to script > open > and choose a script. i chose "Spiral Batch 2." ![]() Then, i got this: ![]() Pretty? Good. Step 4: Search through the flames on your right, make sure to give it time to do a preview. When you find one you like, we can move on. Step 5: Now, from here on, you can just render your image if you like, but i chose to play around with a flame. First, go to "Editor" its the button with the lines in it. ![]() From here, move the triangles around, move the sides, move it all around, add triangles, etc. Just have fun. Step 6: Time to adjust some stuff. Press the button that has some sliders on it, or so it seems: ![]() Use some of the setting seen here if you wish: ![]() Play around with the settings, this will change the darkness, contrast, etc. Very useful as people don't really like dark flames that you can't see. ![]() Step 7: Gradients, that is all. My saying has always been "Its always in the gradient." When you see the difference a gradient can make, you'll agree. Now, browse around the gradients to find one you like: ![]() If you don't like any of them, or if you want to try out some of your custom ones, select the little blueish button near your gradient pull-down button and find one, select it, and double click the gradient to apply it to your flame. Step 8: This is when we can mutate the image. Go to the button with little boxes and click on it, it should bring this up: ![]() I didn't choose to mutate it, so i let's just go to step 9. Step 9: Now, up near your editor, adjust, mutation, etc, buttons there is a number. It should read as "5." Now, you want to keep it like this just so that you can work quickly, but if you want to see a but what it will look like, drop it down and select "100." ![]() Give it time to load and you'll see just a glimpse of how much better it will turn out. Step 10: Rendering time! ![]() Press the little button in the upper-left side that looks like a gear: ![]() Select it, and this should come up: ![]() now, you want to make it 1024 x 768, or 1280 x 980 or whatever size you want it to render at. Keep in mind that whatever you choose to render at will affect the time that it takes to render. Quality: From my previous tutorial, it said 200-300. Apparently i was at least 1000 points off. You want to render it at anywhere from 2200 (quick rendering) to 10000 (long, but detailed render). I usually use 2500-3000. Set the filter radius to 0.2 or somewhere around there and the oversample to 1 (for quick rendering) or up to 4 (better quality). Select render and you should get a nice fractal like this: ![]() Now for some reason, it rendered as a transparent background, so i had to place it on a black background. Odd... Anyway, if you have any questions, PM me. Have fun "seeking the flame." Edit: i have the link to the pack now.

| Thanks. ![]() I still have to get the pack uploaded, but the uploading files isn't working on filefront and i just spent 30 minutes trying to get my computer away from megaupload.com And, although its not in video format, i tried to make it as detailed as possible, and i thought with two tutorials really, it should be detailed enough.
