Default Enough Sith already

I anyone else getting tired of the formula of star wars novels lately? I am personally sick of hearing about the oh so evil sith.
Jacen Solo turning to sith was a given after the events of Traitor, but even then, his era of conquest was mired by the fact that the books(specifically Invincible) were so bloody derivative and generic that it just came off as a clone of Darth Vader's story.

Why can the star wars expanded universe not make any new or convincing enemies to face? Or for that matter, why does every damn novel have to be about some other "greatest threat to the universe" idea?!

This all started with the thrawn trilogy, arguably the best EU has to offer. the only problem was, instead of being inspired by this novel series, other EU authors just copied it and then tweaked their story enough to make it "original".

Take for example, the Sith.
how many stories about sith have there been?
-Thrawn trilogy - Jorus Cabaoth
-Jedi Academy trilogy - Exar Kun
-Lumiya
-Darth Bane
-Darth Revan (come and get me fanboys!)
-Clone palpatine (dumbest idea ever)
-Xanatos
-Lord Nyax
-Lost Tribe of Sith (fate of the jedi)

And thats not even all of them.
Next up, Rogue Imperial Warlords!
Thrawn and Pellaeon - Best Ever
Daala - Thrawn`s human counterpart though slightly more insane
Isard - Ripoff of Daala
Zsinj - Fat loser
Carnor Jax
Vilim Disra

Mandalorians, you have Karen Traviss partly to thank for this
-Mandalore the first
-Mandalore the indomitable
-Mandalore the ultimate
-Mandalore the Preserver
-Mandalore the as yet to be named
-Mandalore the Jaster Mereel
-Jango the mandalore
-Mandalore the invevitable
-mandalore the ressurector
-Boba the mandalore
-mandalore the incessantly long winded and never gets anything done except talk about why he is mandalore and then completely forgets why he was talking in the first place and starts talking about something else starting a completely pointless tangent that nobody cares about.

Come on! how many bloody mandalore`s does the galaxy need?

Yuuzhan Vong, a knockoff of the Yevethan, a race who wants to kill everything

Yuuzhan vong are basically the love child of the borg, Yevethan and the tyranid.

What I'm trying to convey in this post is my displeasure at the amount of creativity being put into star wars these days. Instead of elaborating on already set plot points, the novels these days just make new rehashes of older works.
How great would it be to see minor characters roles in conflicts that cannot be elaborated on in a three book trilogy simply because of time constraints and obstructing the flow of the novel? give them their own novel instead!

The whole point of the sith in novel format is just sad. With all the crap being thrown around now, it just makes the jedi in the books seem all that much stupider.
They are always shocked to see the sith return, but with the way things are going, the sith seemingly show up on a regular basis every two or three in-universe years, but the jedi are always "shocked".

You've been given a whole galaxy to play in authors, use your f@#$ing imaginations.

but minor characters do not rolein the big money or popularity.

Plus if they did do it for a so called 'minor' character and they couldn't have an epic duel because they are not that good enough or even their mission is boring and not as good as other major characters then the story will go down the hole.

The fact is that we need big epic fights and storylines or we will get bored shitless

As for the mandolore's....well someone has to rule them....cant just make a race, make a leader then after one war kill them all off especially the mandolorians! They thrive in obedience and war.
I have to admit creative ideas are low....but what else is there? It has to be big and epic and well they have played every angle. Also if a writer wants it cannon he/she will read up on SW......but then all the previous ideas are like loged in their mind.

it's a no win situation to me...

I know, it's always the same old story about sith vs. jedi
without the sith, star wars wouldn't be the same, but they should put some effort when it's about creating new stories. Just like you said.

Bane is probably my favorite Sith lord in a book. He's certainly the most well-made. I think rather than continuing forward in time until all the classic characters have died of old age, there should be more books like the Coruscant Nights series; explaining what happened right after the Jedi were eliminated. My favorite book to date is Children of the Jedi. The fate of the entire galaxy doesn't hang in the balance; just that of Belsavis and the "crew" of the battlemoon. It's better that way. There's much more room for a story, y'know?
