Bleah, that's stupid, pretty sure I've looked through the gallery they are talking about, it had some great stuff. What is the point of taking them down? If they can't be found anywhere then how are we supposed to enjoy them?

IIRC, they (Lucas Film) were threatening legal action against Battlestar Galactica, soon after the series had begun to air.

Guess they didn't like other people doing the whole "space opera" type of entertainment......

I didn't say they wanted to, I said they had been considering.
Upon further looking into it, it wasn't Lucas but Twentieth Century Fox.

They were threatening legal action against Universal Studios, over their alleged stealing of ideas used in Star Wars.
Basicly, nothing came of it in the end due to counter suits from Universal, claiming Star Wars had stolen ideas from the film Silent Running, and the 1940s Buck Rogers series.

I was referring to the original Battlestar Galactica of 1978, not the reboot version of recent years.

The idea of Battlestar was originally worked up before Star Wars came out, and was much more different than what went to print.
It basicly became a response from one studio, to another one after the astronomic sucess of Star Wars.

the Cylons resambles stormtrooper in a degree I think thats why LA sued them...They got nothing against the new BSG!
