Revan Vs Luke Skywalker.

This question has been posted in the KoTOR Forums, but I honestly think it could do with being posted in here, for a broader audience beyond those who frequent the KoTOR+TSL related forums.

In a battle between Luke Skywalker, and Revan, who would emerge triumphant?

For anyone unsure about details of either, click the following links.

Luke Skywalker:
Luke Skywalker - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki

Revan:
Revan - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki

Please, if you have to say one or the other, to try and compare them as fully as you can, since both go beyond their initial starting medium of Films(Luke) and Games(Revan).
You never know what information you may find out beyond what you already knew.

Luke at his height. Revan is way overrated, I would place Luke close or equal to Palpatine in terms of ability.

I would say they're about even...
Lightsaber wise, force wise...
But Revan is better at commanding an armada/army.

Re: Revan Vs Luke Skywalker.

Revan is more powerful in the Force, as he has soaked in the Star Forge's energy for longer than his share. Also, Kreia mentioned to the Exile that "Compared to the ancient Masters, we are as children playing with toys," so I assume it works both ways. Considering Luke mostly taught himself, I don't think he could stand up to Revan's prowess in the Force or with a blade.

The Star Forge fed on life, and the Force.
It wasn't like the Valley of The Jedi, it couldn't be used to empower anybody.

Yeah Luke taught himself.
But the learning-material he had dated back to pre-Revan time.

As I've stated in Oblivions' thread; Luke would win no doubt. I'm not quite sure if Luke or Anakin was the chosen one, but both of them are awesome anyways. Revan, maybe...

I think Revan would kill Luke within minutes. I stated this before, but I shall again. Kreia told the Exile that "we are as children playing with toys compared to the old Masters." That was 4000 years before 4000 years before Luke came around. One would think, then, that the same would go for comparing a modern Jedi to Revan. No matter how powerful in the Force Luke is, power is no match for skill. When you think about it, Revan would have had more skill with a blade than Luke could ever hope to attain. So Revan would win. Way to over-explain a post, eh?

I Agree with Maverick

It's not an easy comparison. The strictly non-expanded universe Luke would get his ass handed to him by Sith lord Revan. The full Jedi training, Years and years of ground combat against all manner of foes.. versus a starfighter pilot with padawan-level lightsaber skills and a mediocre controll of the force. No contest.

When i think about it it's a stupid comparison to make. You cannot judge the abilities of these characters going by the movies. The lightsaber choriography in the original trilogy is almost non existant, medevil knights had more grace than those guys. Force usage is limited to a few displays of force push/pull/lightning/jump, none more than once or twice in any movie. Going by display means ROTS Obi would wipe the floor with ROTJ jedi AND sith.

Obviously he can't, you can't compare em.

Both bolded sections of text have been covered, and refuted in this thread already.

Well then, go bitch to ILM for not having today's standards of "cutting edge" CGI special effects, thirty years ago.
Then go bitch to Lucas for not having a Special Effects company that was thirty years ahead of its time, thus negating the technological limitations of sci-fi/fantasy films from the 70's and 80's.

The key in something like this thread, is to go beyond what you see/hear.
Use other sources instead of saying things like "Revan is better because Kreia said so!", or "The orginal trilogy Lightsaber fights sucked, prequel trilogy fights were so much cooler, and better choreographed!".
Immerse yourself in the fantasy lore, from it's past (pre-SW films eras) to it's future (post-SW films eras).

Re: Revan Vs Luke Skywalker.

And even then you can't come to any meaningful conclusions, because really.. you can't tell force power levels, though I'm pretty sure Revans was over 9000.

Re: Revan Vs Luke Skywalker.

How do you arrive at such a conclusion?
