Most powerful Jedi? Yoda. He was just at a disadvantage in that big room, trying to kill Sidious.

I don't think Mace Windu may not be as strong as we think he is. After all, I'm pretty sure that it was all part of Sidious' plan for Anakin to kill Windu. Remember, Anakin believed that he was doing the right thing by killing the Jedi. And Sidious wasn't as weakened as he pretended, how else could he have unleashed that lightning on Windu?

come on! you cant tell me you are naive enough to believe mace windew actually defeated palpatine. I mean think about it, palpatine killed 3 other jedi in about 10 seconds. Also think about this, palpatine was a MASTER of deception AND manipulation. Not to mention that he had a keen sence of seeing the future. You can NOT honestly tell me that you dont think that he manipulated the situation, knowing that anakin was comming. I mean which way would be better to destroy trust in the jedi and gain trust with him? You have to admit its brilliant, i mean come on, he "convieneintly" "lost" his lightsaber right before anakin walks in, and the whole "i cant hold it any more... im weak" then the "unlimited... POWER" line. the entire thing was a manipulation of anakin to play on his feelings.
Im not trying to discredit windew as a jedi, but im going to have to go with yoda on this, he was not so easily thrown asside by palpatine (and yes im saying windew was easily thrown asside because he was so easily manipulated into a bad situation) not to mention he was wise, and apparently had a high medichlorian count, so great swordsman, high medichlorian count, and wise. gets my vote for strongest jedi

Well, either way, you proved a good point, that Windu was led into a bad situation.

But the thing is, Sidious possibly could have killed Windu sooner than he did, he just wanted to bring Anakin to the Dark Side. It was all part of the plan. The thing is, Windu could have killed Sidious when he had the chance to, Sidious was taking a huge risk by pretending to be weakened. The fact the Windu didn't kill Sidious is what sticks out in my mind. And Anakin killed Sidious the hard way in ROTJ, and Anakin was already so crippled. Anakin had the potential to kill Windu. Anakin is the chosen one, after all.

I changed my mind. The most powerful Jedi is Anakin. If he had been smarter and more careful, he could have wiped out all of the Jedi, including Obi-Wan (you know what I mean).

Yeah folks, if there is one online source OTHER than starwars.com 's Data Bank that you could most likely rely on to be in-canon and accurate about other SW stuff, it will be the starwarswookieepedia. If you need more other stuff, I highly recommend you go out and buy the companions like the SW Chronology, the Jedi vs. Sith guide to the Force, etc. put out from Lucas. It is the definitive, positive, true canon on what is and what is not, aside from the Holocron.

I would just like to point out that there is no one founder of the Jedi or the Sith. The Jedi came collectively out of many groups that studied the Force, most notably those Force-users from Tython. The Sith were a race of primitive dark side users that the Dark Jedi conquered and ultimately the Sith Race treated as gods. The rest is history.

The Sith did not start using the "Darth" title till much later after Ajunta Pall and his other fellow Dark Jedi were long dead. The etymology of the word is still much debated. But I ask you, Darth Scarz? Please!
