You may need to try a few in order to find out which style you really like. I tend to favor "siege" maps where one team is outnumbered but has a greater strategic advantage. A couple classics are:

Bunker 149 Advanced, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player
Tau Homeworld Tau'n, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player

If this appeals to you and you sometimes play alone against the computer, here's one I made that could be fun:

Bloody Corner, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player

Now there are two other basic kinds of maps: Chokepoint and Open. The chokepoint maps give everyone the same basic advantage but the only way to get to eachother is through one central area where most of the fighting goes on. Here is a classic I have played dozens of times:

Snowy Islands, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player

If you like this style, try searching for "choke" in the map description and you will find a lot of them. Then sort them by their rating or the number of downloads.

The Open maps are where there are lots of ways to get around to the enemies and you have to play both defensivly and offensivly at the same time. One I really like that was a featured map for quite a while is:

Worlds At War, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player

There are lots of these out there and if you really find you like them the most I can suggest a fair number more. Have fun!

Thanks for letting me on to the "Hold the River" map. I downloaded it and it is pretty well made siege map, well designed for 2 vs up to 6 enemies, and certainly is very fun! I haven't downloaded very many Winter Assault maps since I started playing DoW with Dark Crusade, but there probably are a lot of great maps there. It is nice that they are back compatible, so they work even with SoulStorm. For anyone reading this who may want to give it a try, here's the link:

Hold the River, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Players

I do really like Worlds at War for free for all, also the Commmunity Map Project II is great:

Community Map Project 2 for DC, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player

Here's another one that's pretty good:

Redemptus Reloaded, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player

You asked about larger maps, so I'm not suggesting smaller than 8 player ones although there are some pretty good ones.

I don't know if you are into "alternative" maps, but Fuggles, TYoungLS and a few others have posted a fair number that totally remake the gameplay for Dow. Orky Olympics is the one that I found most intreguing and has lots of sub-variations:

Orky_Olympics, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player

Urban Blight by B. is a good FFA. Urban Blight, Dawn of War Downloads, Dawn of War 8 Player
