Soulstorm running on the CoH engine?

What do you guys think Soulstorm would be like if Relic/THQ decided to run it on the same engine as Company of Heroes? I mean with destructable terrain,better physics, smart AI (seeking cover automatically etc) and other asthetic details such as shielding their eyes frm the necron lords solar pulse instead of just standing still. IMO with the weapons of 40k and destructable terrain, the whole think would look Epic. True that you would probably need a high spec PC to run it...

it would be cool so long as they don't use company of heroes opposing fronts security system as well. it's a real pain in the neck

yes but it's a stand-alone expansion, I guess they could transfer all the stuff over to that engine and it would still work.

I don't think so, if they suddenly converted to the CoH engine then they would have the problem of all the current mods who are in development for SS plus the previously made community maps would not work and making new ones would be a big problem. Also, did you see the trailers, that is definatley the DoW engine.

Im not saying it wouldn't be awesome, just that it wouldn't work out.

Hmmm, I guess so. It would be quite good, I bet they could still add some more features to improve the game.

I think it would be nice to change the engine, it is 4 years old by now. However all the screen shots and trailers for it point towards that relic is not really changing the game all that much.

In the interview with excutive producers in the latest issue of PC gamer, they said that they don't want to use a new engine because they added new content to the game without increasing the specs too much. So basically they're sticking to the same engine so they can reach a wider audience. I agree, since a lot of people can barely play DOW as it is, let alone some new engine, looking at the ugly ass graphics in some POTD.

well i hope they dont for dawn of war is its own game and shoud just stick with wat its mostly doing. oh and please use other threads.
