Speculation On The NEW DoW EXPANSION

Nah i'm sure they would telly ou sooner what the second race will be, I hope it's Tyranids, but Sisters of Battle (Sob - not son of a bitch) will be just as good. But i would prefer a arce more like Tyranids because they are really very different from any other. Where as SoB are more like the Imperium's other races with Boltguns etc.. Still have some nice unique units though.

well from what I understood, it was leaked some time ago, that the SoB's are probably going to be it.
When you think about it, they're the most probable race.

RElic has stated multiple times that tyranids do not work well in the current engine

Deamonhunters are almost another marine clone

Whereas the sisters - faith powers, unique vehicles, different units, flamer trippy and one could continue.
Also, they are the "amazon" race, that would get a lot of new players in, sadly mainly 12-year old hormonally incoherent boys

Im glad to see the dark eldar are joining the fray, i was hoping they would be included, as for the second unannounced race, i agree with wraithcat, i think it will be the sisters of battle. Plot wise they would make more sense to a game named Soulstorm than the tyranids would.

Also marketing wise it's probably one of the better moves that GW and relic could make. DOW has more than likely spurred more than afew people to start playing TT games, and by introducing the newer(tau) and less known races into DOW they would increase marketability of the less played factions. Because everybody who knows anything about wh 40k, knows about the tyranids, the S.O.B's and the dark eldar, on the other hand are not so common.

If they add units to existing races too, them i am curious to see how they go about adding units to the necrons. The other races still have plenty of units left out, but the necrons have pretty much played all their cards unless, relic decides to start adding BFG models, which i feel would kind of ruin dow, as it's infantry/land battles are what makes the game so fun.

I would much rather see nids added if possible though, it would be nice to mow down a different variety of hordes. you can only slay so many guardsman and green skins before you crave something else

Still I wonder how aircraft will be solved.
Right now, I foresee, that they will use every single dark eldar unit out, except maybe for that double fighter. The ravenwing is in, but I doubt the bigger one will.

As for f;ying units.

Well I'm almost sure the eldar will get the nightwing, as for the others.. orks a fighta/bomba...?

the new race is dark eldar, not tyranids because from what ive heard the current engine can't handle them. i found a vid tho bad quality but its all ive been able to find.

And we know that the dark eldar will be present.
But there are supposed to be two races, one yet unannounced.

A since we know the DE are one ( WE shall hunt you from COmmoragh - finally yay!!) the question arises what is the second.
Like I said, I'd put my bets on the sisters.

Where are you guys getting your information from? I've searched Gamespot and THQ and can't find anything, unless I am missing the insanely obvious.

I figured we would have heard something by now. On Dark Crusade it came up with a very clear 2007, which should indicate that this new game will be released in 2007. I'm going to guess December. However, for a game that is only three or four months away, we've heard squat.

Considering other games that are released (think of Halo, GTA, Tekken etc) they give gamers plenty of notice, yet for this next DoW game, we've heard very little. In my case, nothing.

I've also seen people state that the Dark Eldar are going to be in this latest addition. Along with someone else... There is a question here I think, that being, is this 'addition' going to be another game, or an expansion pack? - This would answer the question about the Tyranids.

If the answer is an expansion pack, then as Relic have stated, the game engine can't handle it. If however this is a new game, then chances are, they are using the CoH game engine, and Tyranids would be included.

Personally, and thinking of this logically, the only races that they can put in of which haven't been put in just yet, are the Daemon Hunters, Witch Hunters, or Tyranids. I've left out Dark Eldar, because apparently they're going to be in it.

For my hope, I believe that they will combine the Daemon Hunters & Witch Hunters, calling them 'The Ordo Malleus'. Doing this, they'd have to remove the Grey Knights from the Space Marines for starters, maybe they could give the Marines bikes instead, or maybe a heavy weapons team (Devastator Squad).

When you look at what they have done in the past however, I expect them to do all four additional races. That being the Daemon Hunters, Witch Hunters, Tyranids & Dark Eldar. Knowing Relic, with what they've done previously, they will add the Daemon Hunters & Witch Hunters in, as two seperate sides (so they can get more money really).

The overall question though, is why wouldn't they include the Tyranids? What would be the point of doing every single Warhammer 40,000 race, except the Tyranids? - The entire point of all of the games would then simply become void.

i would like to know about the COH cover system is it like faces of war where like you move ur mouse to like a busted wall and it shows how ur guys are going to set up if its like that then that wouldnt be so great.

the airforce part i think it should be divided like idk one section ur average dawn of war fight then like another mission is air combat and plus what do all the races have for like fighters and bomber can someone show me.

That is one of the best things that were implemented in RTS games.

The the ordo malleus can only be one of the two!
unless i'm mistaken the ordo militant of the malleus are the greys, and that of the Hereticus the sisters.

Well it's no rumor anymore, go look at ign.com, it's offical. I love DOW seris however what really sets me off is that the game graphics engine doesn't look like it'll change. I would rather have an all new game with graphics of newer games then just playing a revamp version with a few new features.

that graphics on the game arent the best imaginable, but for what they do, theyre really quite good. better than some yet not the best ever
