Did You Know: The Tau were once an ally of mankind?

I don't remember where i read this at but, correct me if I'm wrong, i read that the tau were once an ally of mankind. I don't know if i was dreaming or not but, i saw it somewhere. The tau became enemies because they did something wrong that the imperium didn't like or vice versa.

Relic should make a game on that, where the space marines amd imperial guard work something out and become allies again, and the tau do the same. Imagine the sm commander going in for melee attacks against an enemy, while the ig command sqaud flanks that enemy, and the tau commander provides cover fire. KICK ASS!!! anyway post any comments on what this would be like or if i'm even right about this. but no flaming, or may the Blood god have your soul. :P

I think that never happened because the Tau are a new race to the impirum and the IG and SM saw them as a threat(Fire warrior) The greater good is what they belive in and nothing changed that.

Not true at all, the adeptus mechanus discovered what later evolved into tau, but wanted the whole planet to be orbital cleansed, however the fleet got caught in a warp storm and the planet remained safe for many years, when the warp storm cleared then the tau could start branching off to other planets on the eastern fringe.

what you two are saying makes sense, but i still half believe it. it just seems so familiar that ive seen it somewhere. maybe the tau were allies of the imperium for like a couple days or something. i keep thinking a read it in the instruction manual, but its not in there.

Space marins and IG are allies and will always be unless there is a tiny hint of heresy with in a certen legion or platoon then thats when the clesnseing comes and wipes out a entire planet. Sometimes it mistakin (like on Cyrean)

The Tau were found by the imperium in a primitive state.
Soon ships were dispatched to colonise their world and it's "remove" it's original population.
Yet before the colony ships arrived, the entire sector was covered by great warpstorms, thus making it unreachable.
During this time, the tau allied and set to task by ethereals quickly developed and colonised outlying worlds.

After the warp storms died off, the imperium discovereing this send a crusade to stem them out.
Yet this failed.
Partly due to both a chaos and tyranid incursion in different sectors of much greater thread magnitude than the Tau, thus elements of the crusade were called off and send to reinforce forces fighting on different fronts.

Yet the allready stranded guard elemts on tau occupied planets were quickly absorbed by the tau and became part o the greater good movement.

Still the Tau sell their superior farming technology to border world at very good prices, thus sometimes creating friendly relations between border human worlds and tau septs.

THe imperium does it's best to stem this behaviour out.

Oh I see what you're getting at now, yes the tau use human auxilleries (gue'ila?) bassically guardsmen with pulse rifles.

do u know how to change your angles hold the ALT button and move your mouse and that only if you have full 3d camra on.
