Did You Know: The Tau were once an ally of mankind?

Tau are supposed to be a mashup of all the asian socities into one with Roman inspired imperialistic tendencies. Kinda like the American neo-imperialism.

The tau were never a ally of the imperium in the old codex before the Tau empire one there was some fluff where they tried to make an alliance with the imperium through a space marine commander but it is rejected.

Ever read any of the Last Chancers series? The third one the Last Chansers go in desguised as a peace treaty but intend to kill a Tau leader that the Tau want killed because they suspect him of Heresy(?) and then the tau that asked them to kill him turns out to be....read it for yourself...

Well maybe they made some alliances like sometimes in dawn of war i be allied with the team winning build and army them wen they kill most of the others betray and destroy him ( only if locked teams is off)

Humans that ally themselves with the Tau are called "Gue'Vesa", they're an auxiliary unit like the Kroot and the Vespids. I think the Tau have a better ideology than the Imperium (unless we're talking about the Relicators or Souldrinkers), because all the Imperium is about is zealotry and racism.

the tau idealogy is actually frighteningly similar to the nazi idea. the greater good theory was their invention. the murder of billions is allowed for the greater good in the tau empire, the same as in the nazi holocaust. the imperium is flawed badly but the tau are equaly or more so

Actually the tau are more or less the best of the sides.
They generally give you a choice before they kill you. No other side generally does this (unless it's an excuse to an easy killing)

The fact that they have sterilisation camps most likely doesn't change this fact.

The greater good at least gives you the chance to join whether you aren't of the same race or if you have a mutation. The Imperium just kills all mutants, aliens, and supposed "heretics"; neither is grand but the Tau are a little more just.

At least the tau kill for a purpose: a united universe. the imperium just kills.

Oh, and the Tau have never allied with Imperium (they tried though). The closest thing (methinks) is the agreement during the Nimbosa crusade, where the tau basicly agree to let the imperium withdraw it's forces. The gue'vesa are humans who have joined the tau (the ones who still fight, but now for the Tau). And don't believe that crap they say about the tau in the dawn of war games, they don't have sterilisation camps and don't feed humans to Greater Knarlocs. They always show respect and honour (in battle and after)

Well I wouldn't look to Dawn of War for any fluff really, it's relatively shotty when it comes to that.
