hi well most of u would know me as the annoying guy who wont stop asking questions:cya:

and if you have contributed into helping me you would know that i need to wait until apirl or may until i get something that can play crysis. So while i was trying to get some idea of what crysis looked like on high an medium *its pretty hard to do because youtube sucks and all of the official videos are running on maxed out settings* so if you have any spare time i would like your help in getting some crysis screenshots on MEDIUM and HIGH (nothing lower nothing higher please)

THX if you choose to help *I realize I may be getting annoying*

Its my own Config with some High features such as the shadows and sunbeams, and some Medium features such as the ground and water.

Playing with Natural Mod =P lol, but still it looks awesome, at that time, my settings where...
Shadows Medium, OQ Low, Textures High, Shaders Medium, Physics Low, The Rest High, Anti Aliasing 4*, 1280*1024

I have a very bad CPU you see, so cranking up shaders or physics or Object Quality more, makes the computer basically stall.
When i get a decent CPU, I should see all my settings go onto high DX9...
Also note, that I get a much higher frame rate, on higher graphics settings in Vista under DX10, then what I do in DX9...Only issue, is my soundcard is bugged in Vista, so I don't play Crysis under Vista...even though it runs faster and looks better

that sucks well its much better then my current comp i have an ati300x and only 521mb of ram and FARCRY runs like a slide-show ='(

i c that in some of your pics your frame rate drops all the way to like 7 and 10 is that a noticable drop from like 25 or 30?

I have played in both ranges, less than 15 and more than 25, without too much trouble. Having said that, below 15 can be hard to play with depending on your own playing style (like running into the fray versus sniping from a distance.)

Yeah, I can run at high ish settings at around 25 - 30fps, but ANYTHING that use's CPU, drops me down to like 10 haha...
My CPU is the reason for the low frame-rates in the screenys

Intel is head and shoulders above AMD in processors, don't even bother with AMD.

Gigabyte GA-M59SLI, AMD\A64x2-4600,2GB Corsair 6400C4,GS7900 256MB

That's my box. And I have to play virtually all sliders on medium to get an average frame rate of low-to-mid twenties (except for Frozen World, which dips down to 6-8 FPS and is not even playable). Anything below the twenties on the Hard level, I consider unplayable.

You have a better setting than me? Please show your specs.

I play with very high setting at 25 - 28 fps.

If i play everything on high, i get a a fps of 35-40 fps.

Well my PC hasn't arrived yet but this is what I'm getting, I'm not sure whether it is but it would seem it from face value.

Intel Quad-Core 2.66Ghz
768Mb 8800GTX
4GB of Ram
Not sure what Mobo
XP Media edition.

Should come in the next week or so.

the quad isnt special
the ram bwoah it helps maybe if you play high games
and your card is slightly better

actually not really better. In a lot of games, the quad makes thing slower then mine because a lot of games arent supporting quad yet so.

Indeed yeah that's right. Crysis does takes advantage of quad core but it's one of the only ones and it's not even optimized. Quad cores don't work as they should be in crysis. You can find the info on Incrysis forum. I'm starting to believe that this game has bad scripting.

Quad cores more just don't work for games...IMO atleast.
They just arn't worth it, and arn't fast enough yet.
Crysis barely even runs with Dual wells, let-a-lone quads

Well Absent, don't take this as an offence of course. But in a lot magazines, they wrote and you can see it in some tests, that if you take some games like DiRt or Supreme Commander and you take two rigs like let's say your quad core of 2.66 ghz versus my C2D 3.2ghz and we have both a 8800 GTX, mine will come better out of this. Because those two games don't support the quad core. Crysis does but it's also one of the only games that supports Quadcore gaming.
