Microsoft billed it as the "must have for serious gamers". Only problem is...dx10 is so ill-implemented all they have done so far is cripple the same effects in dx9, make the effects "dx10 only". These missing effects can be implemented through hacks & configs.
Take for instance, GEARS OF WAR. All they did was add anti-aliasing in dx10. WTF? A standard setting in dx9 games & its all of a sudden dx10 exclusive?
All my Crysis ultra high setting shots were taken with hacked configs.
If you already have windows XP, I wouldn't worry about it, since the next microsoft os is a few years off & dx10 has offered nothing new in terms of performance or implementation. |
