Re: Medium and High pics No, I understand the point, the sentence lacked any coherence whatsoever. Also, Source or it didn't happen. |
Re: Medium and High pics Here you go. BCCHardware - Mobile @ m.bcchardware.com - Core 2 Duo vs Core 2 Quad That's the first link i clicked on! Look at the bottom... When it comes to choosing a high-end processor, you must really think about what you are going to be doing with it. In terms of gaming performance, a Dual Core CPU will probably give you better performance and value today as dual core CPU’s are clocked higher and games can only handle one or two threads at once. Quad core CPU’s should excel in video editing, design, and pure mathematical calculations as more applications are multithreaded for 2 or more cores. With that in mind, we’ll take a look at how the processors compare in terms of basic specs. |
Re: Medium and High pics That's fair enough, I found this to do with Quadcore gaming performance, comparing a QX6700 and an C2D E6700 which said this: Quote:

Re: Medium and High pics Crysis is a game like Lost Planet that takes full advantage of quad core. Within a year, games will need Quad cores to work excellent so you are safe if it comes to gaming but at the moment with games you don't. |
Re: Medium and High pics Well I don't plan on getting a new PC any time soon, I've got this 2 years min anyway. Well anyhoo, will my PC be able to play crysis on V. High at an acceptable Frame rate, just so you know I'm getting Vista within a week. |
Re: Medium and High pics mmh, i have vista. In some ways its good but in other ways like gaming it sucks. Oke you have dx10 but there are ways to have dx 10 on xp. Fps will drop in front of your eyes. |
Re: Medium and High pics Do you have SP1? Every one else has been saying they've had no problem with any gaming. And if you say FPS is low, how low, cause I'm used to gaming with like 13-20 FPS average. |
Re: Medium and High pics well i live in belgium, so i need to wait at the multilanguage pack. Well, about those fps. Let's say, a friend of mine has the following setup: C2D E6750 @ 2.66 ghz gigabyte 8800 gt msi motherboard windows xp sp2 he plays crysis at high settings at 40 -30 fps My setup: C2D E6750 @ 3.2ghz (cooled) evga 8800 gt superclocked (much higher and better than him) gigabyte motherboard (newest) vista home premium so as you can see my specs are better than him. I play crysis at high settings at 35-25 fps... this because of vista... |
Re: Medium and High pics Hmm, fair enough. But as it goes Crysis is a very demanding game so you can't really judge an OS on how it does on a game like that, and whats the difference of 15 FPS gonna make. but anyway, We need moar screenshots! |
Re: Medium and High pics If you game Prime, I've very surprised you're seriously using Vista. I would've thought you would have known Vista sucks for gaming... hence all the Vista flame over the internet. |
