Alright, before this patch, crysis was great, sure it basicaly butchered the mappers down to their knees but it was a solid enhancement for Multiplayer and singleplayer. But now... With this mod... It seems like they made an entirely new list of problems. first of all, the red screen is gone, for when you die, which is something that i thought SHOULD've stayed, the ragdoll has improved (meaning that explosions ACTUALY make the enemies fly 5 or 6 feet), and heres the detailed part. They added new sound affects, new animations, and new affects... Ok, that's cool, but not when half of it is glitchy as hell. I went to go play the map assault, during the cutscene i press the fire button for your weapon, and my guys hands pop up during the cutscene with his pistol in hand. the sound is the worst part, every single time, no matter how far away you are, and no matter what weapon you kill someone with you'll always hear this *WHIPT* sound, i guess it's supposed to simulate the sound of a bullet hitting a person, but it sure as hell get's annoying EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU HURT AN ENEMY WITH A GUN, melee doesn't count, thank god. Oh, and you'll get a kick out of this one, they made it so your strength drains twice as faster for when you jump or melee so that's basicaly useless now. I only played it for 5 minutes and i could tell it was buggy as hell, i mean, usually the jeeps stop whenever they see you, but no, not this jeep, i shot the tire off and it still kept driving as if it had 4 complete undamaged tires, but you could still see the smoke and sparks. The only way it WOULD stop was when i shot the gas tank on the back and they all ran out. They also made it so the grenade launcher travels slower and does less damage (is sure as hell seems like it does less damage since it took 2 nades to kill 2 soldiers, and the nades were directly 2 feet away from them). I mean what were they THINKING. It's like they took this great 9.75/10 game and turned it into a glitchy 7/10 game, which pisses the hell out of me. I'm yelling in my head at how stupid these devs are, and that stupid little fact that "Oh, this is their second game they've ever made" can't save them anymore, this has to be the ALL time lowest so called "patch" to a game that i've ever had the displeasure of downloading and installing.
That's not even all of it, i'm sure you guy's could find atleast 5 more things about it. The only upsides are, they added some "realistic" random rotation sequence for grenades and the grenade launchers, they improved the ragdoll system, the sound affects are improved, they added plenty of small new affects, and the sound affects seem clearer and more realistic.
1.2 is pretty much just all about the MP. The internal cheating device they implemented is the big push they're trying to make. Though I do wonder why the fucking thing is like 300 mb?!
1.1 was whatever, most ppl on Crymod actually don't recommend using it unless you actually map and use AI. As for just the user and map player installing it, Crymod tries to dissuade people from using it, which doesn't make sense to me. If the mapper uses 1.1, the player will need 1.1 as well, so if they encourage one group of people to use it, shouldn't they encourage everyone to use it? It makes no sense to me.
Like I said before, 1.2 is all about MP. In terms of SP though, it basically makes the AI more competent on the mounted weapons, and your weapons do more damage to enemies whereas enemies do less damage to you. As if the fucking game wasn't easy enough already, now it's uber newbish.
Sorry but I'm in a bit of a funk, Crymod, FarCry and Crysis are really pissing me off, trying to make custom content and mods, it's so difficult, I'm THIS CLOSE to throwing in the towel completely, if my tone sounds like that, this is the reason. Thanks for letting me rant.

lol, sorry, i meant patch. The game wasn't THAT easy, i mean i've died a good few times each level once in a while (sometimes by objects killing me). I mean NOW it's easy. The patch isn't really centered around MP as much as the first one was though, this one braches off in to an all purpose one. I'm not going to have fun waiting for patch 1.3... Since i'm not even TOUCHING crysis again till they get that damn sound bug fixed... I swear to god, i couldn't play more then 15 minutes with that damn sound going off on every single hit.
I seem to be having the same problem as with the first patch, which required reinstalling the game to apply. I spent 40 min downloading patch 1.2 from Filefront, then tried to install it. It hung up a bit and finished with an error message. When I launch the game there is no mod launcher shown in the menu so I assume it didn't even install. BTW I was unpatched before installing. Do you need to be at v1.1 before installing 1.2? TweakGuides says you need to reinstate the default intro videos and/or reinstall the game before patching. I did disable the intro vids so I guess it could be that.

I had to reinstall my game as well. I was also getting some bogus error when trying to install the patch on my V1.1 Crysis. I reinstalled the game and went straight for the 1.2 Patch, seems to be working better than ever before. So, no I would say, you don't need V1.1 before installing 1.2.
Go play Crysis, go shoot an enemy. Don't you hear anything?!
The bullet exiting the muzzle and that's it. Why, what do you hear, something funny?
