Console Wars...

Now, I don't consider myself a "fanboy." Throughout the years I jumped between Nintendo, Sega, and Sony consoles. They all have strong points and weaknesses. While mostly all consoles hold some sort of significance, in my opinion the PS2 has ended up being a pretty successful console. Not just for video gaming, but as an entertainment unit, it brought the DVD format into more people's homes. Developers are still developing games for the system as it approaches it's 10th birthday. Now of course the current generation still needs to play out. The Wii has been tremendously successful and fun, but is far different from the PS3 & 360. I think the loss of HD DVD was a pretty big blow to the XBox and a huge boost for PS3 and Blu-Ray. While of course there are amazing games for every system, no system seems to have had the traction that the PS2 ended up with.

Yeah, the PS2 was a ridiculously successful system. I never owned one but I've used them on plenty of occasions. I always found it funny, actually, considering the PS2 had way inferior hardware to its main competitor, the original Xbox.

I own an Xbox 360 now, but I've kinda moved on from console gaming.

PS2 is great, I still play mine to this day, lots of great games for it.

Yeah there are good games for the PS2 and it can be fun sometimes...

I always preferred the original Xbox; there were a lot of great games, like: Halo 1 & 2, Doom 3 & ROE, 007: Nightfire & EON, MOH: Frontline (especially Frontline )
