you know for all you people complaining about the price and how HD DVD > Blue-Ray let me just say this. To even be able to play HD DVD you need to buy the drive for $180, now lets pare this cost with the system cus this is always one of the first things bought and ushully at the same time you buy the system
Xbox 360 Core System (which some stores dont even carry any more) - $280
HD DVD player - $180
total - $460
Xbox 360 Pro - $350
HD DVD player - $180
total - $530
Halo 3 Limited Edition Xbox 360 - $400
HD DVD player - $180
total - 580
Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite - $450
HD DVD player - $180
total - $630
as you can see it adds up quickly and thats with out live, the bigger hard drive or any other add ons so i say whats the cheaper system now
All 360's from Core to Elite wont play HD DvD's, yes, but they all are a Proggressive Scan DVD player which is pretty much the same quality as HD DVD, again you won't notice a difference in Video quality from Progressive Scan, HD DVD, or Blu-Ray unless you got a magnifying glass to your TV screen. And the $450 Elite comes with the bigger 120GB HD. So no reason to "Add-on".
To tell you the truth though, my 20GB HD has been suiting me fine. I own about 10 Games, have over 20 TV show episodes, 4 Demos, and 15 Arcade games with still 4GB left over. I really see no use for 120GB HD unless your some idiot who wants to blow every penny he has on every single downloadable content out there on XBL possible.
I believe people base HD DVD and Blu-Ray off of video quality when probably a good 3/4 of them have only seen one of the two and instantley thinks the one that they viewed is better. What it really boils down too is not the video quality but how much memory these things can actually hold. Where Blu-Ray strives right now with up to 50GB.

You might see a bit better image quality with the Blu-Ray or HD DVD drives over the progressive scanner without use of any magnification methods. But overall, I really don't think it's worth the price to get the Blu-Ray or HD DVD drive for that small improvement.

That is more true than you could imagine.

if u aint already decided and i hope u aint but u got to go for the 360 why?
simple 360 cost less around £350, £5 a month to play online graphic are way better, big selection of games Microsoft make both 360 and computer so u get most of the pc games on the 360. Go on gamespot website and u will see they have gotten the same game for the ps3 and 360 and compared the graphics ps3 looks good but they have done to much with lighting made it to bright the 360 looks way better.
99% of people have these stupid things in their signatures, if you are the 1% normal person to have a decent signature, copy and paste this NOW
online is free and i don't see any company charging for it any time in the future.
One word. Home.

Grats. Thats almost the entire PS3 library right there. (I'm teasing)

Speaking of beta.
Beta - more superior than VHS (or so some said)
Blue Ray - more superior than HD-DVD (or so some say)
Beta - defeated in 1988 by VHS.
Blue Ray - ********************* (will history repeat itself?)
Time will tell.

2:1 or 9:2 or... depends on which site/statistics you read. According to VideoScan the cumulative number of Blu-ray titles sold since the format's inception is at 844,000 units, versus HD DVD at 708,600.
As all sites/stats have reported with their, err, report, it's still too early in the game to declare a winner.

FF13 and it's addon (FF13 Versus) are, at this moment, exclusive to the PS3. Since it's release is TBC 2008, this gives plenty of time for contracts to be re-written. Hell there might not even be an official contract yet, it might be in talking. We'll see what happens.
Sqaure Enix as a company however, isn't PS3 exclusive.

Of course it supports 1080p. What would the point be of 'HDDVD' without it?? HDDVD supports 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

In my opinion PS3 can have all the FF games. Let them brag and dance and prance and hold up the exclusive signs - I'll be 'pretending' to give a rats ass.

Halo and Killzone should not be compared to on any levels. I don't know why the hell it was advertised as the 'Halo killer' before it was released. I honestly believe that was one of it's biggest issues. It claimed success before it was even released. That was a terrible marking plot and I hope the people behind it never try to market a video game again...
Killzone was OK. I can't rate is as I only played the demo but in my opinion it looked and sounded awesome. The controls and gameplay were no different from the next shooter but the story and the theme and even the environment was impressive to me. I didn't go beyond that because I was already playing a shooter, Halo.
Halo was a great online game. I'm not going to try and compare the two because even though they're both shooters, they're not on the same LvL.
Oh, but you could duck and cover in both of them and they are both standard shooters.
@wordisbond - the best advice I can give you in your search for a console to purchase is to do your own research, take your time. In the console world, most of the time you're going to get in between fanboys and it will leave you right where you started with the same questions.

ik but from what ive seen theres quite an impressive amount of games comeing out real soon

see i was under the impression that it was only 720, got it. well as of now from what ive seen blue ray is selling 2:1 to HD and is backed by more companies. and ya gizmo's right pick the one that suits you better. though one thing i do like is the fact hear at FF theres a big enough community of 360 players u have your own online group going. wish that was the case with ps3 though i haven't checked other sites and from what i can tell over at nuclearpower.com ps3 is more popular so maby i can get some gaming buds there

Having an impressive line-up doesn't mean shit. Look at the PS3's past record, so many games have been canceled or shifted over to the 360 or PC it's ridiculous. Don't ever judge something over "what might happen", all you're doing is allowing a fatal flaw of the unknown to happen.
Get what you want. I myself have gone w/Sony for 12 years now. Quite simply sony has always kept their fan/consumer base in mind when going next gen. all yes(100%) of my games have worked 100% on next gen. I have a PS1 in the closet , 3 PS2`s in use and 1 PS3 in use and the ps3 is awesome!!! Given the same amt. of time that the 360 has been available Sony will once again Dominate the industry. Also alot of my ps2 game perform and look much much better on the PS3. I play rpg, racing, shooter etc. etc.example:NFS HP2. Just my opinion but previous stats don`t lie!!! let time be my witness.
