Patching ToV to 2.600 problems

well as the title goes, i'm patching my tov to 2.600 from 2.502, you know like it should have automatically done on steam, but didn't. Yet there seems to be a problem with the relic supported patch, it hates me. As follows: a complete valid installation of company of heroes could not be located. Please reinstall company of heroes and try again. being that i dont want to reinstall my perfectly functional and undoubtably installed tov for this patch, i have a problem. Then I press, "ok" and it takes me to the cute little quick loading bar, with this plastered as it's title: "The patch was aborted before it was completely applied. You may have to reinstall company of heroes."
I can't seem to find any of the ToV patches that I might have been able to download off of the filefront coh site, so I seem to be at in impass. Can any of you guys possibly, help me out. If it matters my computer specs are:
Windows vista home premium
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core processor 6000+
3.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT

i am also getting the same message. ive been told that v2.600 is compatible with normal company of heroes. so i tried it cos i wanna play blitzkreig. this is what i get:
a complete valid installation of company of heroes could not be located. Please reinstall company of heroes and try again.
really annoying cos ino i can use this patch to play blitzkreig cos it ses ToV is not required, but i get this message, so im lost. i wud also appreciate any help from the people of this community.
