Bloody Hell...

I was playing against the British AI in Lyon(2). I was ready for an infantry wave. 10 minutes later no one was showing up. I decided to launch a full on offensive then 10 minutes later they all died. They did not capture some strategic points and units were all staying put at a single area. What is happening? Did the British AI go bonkers?
