Regarding sync error and lag warning and dropping...

Hi all :) I had a thought and wondered if anyone can shed some light for me (I would test myself but my 'lanmate' isn't about for a few days.) These errors I hear have something to do with the Relic servers? Something to do with the info getting lost or something....? So my thought it this, what if we are both connected to the network but pull the phone line so there's no inernet? Surely then the game will simply play over the network with no silly internet problems? Just incase anyone else cares who doesn't know you can unplug your internet but stay connected to your network and play over the LAN without any problems at all. No dropping no matter how bad the lag may be :)
