Problem with playing in a WINDOW MODE after upgrade

After upgrading the game from version 1.50 to 2.201 I can no longer play it in a window mode. It does still enter the window mode (after adding "-window" to the shortcut target) BUT the cursor won't stay within the window and runs over on the desktop, which makes it impossible to play.
Any advice on how to make the mouse cursor stay within the window would be appreciated.
