Every time I try to play online, the game says it must download some 1822.08 MB Patch. It crashes each time. It also forces me to send this uncompolsury bug report, even though it says it's uncompolsury, it can't "not-send" and the "Email-Optional:" but "Please add email."
So just look at what version you have :~. Not that hard.
And if it keeps crashing for you and not for the most, it's probably something at your end.
Do you have enough space to have the patch actually?
Also remember you'll need about at least four more gigs for the patch install. It unpacks the sga directories first before repackaging them again.
Those four gigs will be then free again.
You didn't actually tell me how to find what version I have.
I have 16.8 GB free.
Also I don't know if it's just for me, because it's an old patch (I assume, I just recently reinstalled) and others may not have noticed, or bothered to think it was a problem.
vCoH used to list the version in the bottom center of the screen, i have no idea where it is for OF though.
You didn't say which game you have, Company Of Heroes or Opposing Fronts?
If you've got CoH and you've just installed it frest from the retail pack then you'll probably have v1.0, if you installed the Gold edition then you'll have v1.7 or v1.71, and finally if you installed the retail Opposing Fronts then you'll probably have v2.0. If you downloaded through Steam or any other way online then i can't help sorry.
Also you'll have to download almost every consecutive patch individually, sorry there wasn't many "full" patches released. You can get all the patches you need from here; CoH File Download
It was vCoH, but there wasn't anything there. Also it wasn't v1.0 because it had already downloaded one patch, then on the next one it crashed.
Anyhow, I just got Gold Edition and OF seesm to be patching properly so it should be fixed now. Still don't like having to have payed 50 Euro just to play online.
