Matrix mod

Hello everybody,

I was thinking of making a Matrix mod that would focus on the Hovercrafts and infantry against the Sentinels and I don't quiet know which game to use for it. A friend suggested Company of Heroes.

I have a couple of questions though:
1. Are vehicles about to shoot and move at the same time? I mean it's not like in say Generals where once they get in range they stand still and just fire. (Though this could perhaps be scripted in)

2. Do you all think this game would be a good base for a Matrix mod?

3. Can the maps be really large without lagging the game? On most computers that is.

Please let me know what you think of this.

Thanks in advance,
Abyssinian

It might work but to be completly honest with you, this is a much too ambitious project. You would have to re-do pretty much every aspect of the game as it focusses on World War 2, perhaps even some files you're legally not allowed to edit.

Alternativly though for this kind of project you may want to consider Supreme Commander. It is an RTS as well but already set in a Sci-Fi like environment. For more information check Supreme Commander Demos, Mods, Patches & File Downloads

I don't think SupCom is really the right game for the job. The scale is just too big. By Matrix-style combat, I'm assuming you mean a few units per side rather than 500 or 1000?
