Create2DTexture Error On Startup

Hey guys

Just recently have been getting the following error when I try to start the game:

Create2DTexture( 3_cursor3, 64, 64, 0, 861165636 ) failed: 8876086c = Invalid call

I have played the game before on this PC with no problems so I know that it is not a problem with the computer itself.
I have also gotten a new video card since this started happening, and it doesn't work with that either. My drivers are also fully updated and I have the latest version of DirectX

Sometimes, however, the game does start and when this happens the intro movie plays perfectly, but my cursor shows up as a black box and I cannot see the menu.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I've seen other threads on it, but no method works for me.

Have you tried reinstalling the game ?..

i hawe the same problem whit my version of the game and its original i hawe tried reeinstaling the game and it doesnt work
