Default COD4 multiplayer error
I have a friend who just bought a brand new copy of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The disk is obviously in good condition. Whenever you try to run multiplayer, the loading screen comes up, the screen turns black, and about five seconds later, you get this message that says iw3mp has stopped working. I tried to run it in compatibility mode 4 XP, run it as an administrator, both, and neither. I reinstalled it with my copy, and it still doesn't work, so it's not the disk. I'm kind of running out of ideas. If someone knows how to help me, could you post please? Much appreciated.

My friend was experiencing a similiar problem and he said that he found you needed to have something plugged into the microphone jack, and that the makers acknowledge it as a bug that they have no idea how to fix, it could be something else because I didn't get all the details but have him try that.
