icon_question Problem setting up an Internet Server

Hi,

i hope someone can help. My brother and i offten play COD 2 GRAW/2 and other games with one of us setting up a server and playing DM against each other from the comfort of our homes.
in COD 4 we have tried and tried but wether i or my brother set the server up we cannot see it.

We are trying to connect to each other over the internet and not via LAN.

Can anyone help???

how is the network set up? are the firewalls and router (if any) set up properly?

Yup, i think the router is set up properly. I've never had problems before... when we set up a LAN game it's fine. Last night while he was at home and i was at home we set up a graw2 server and that worked fine. As far as firewalls are concerned i have them all set up correctly... i think.... my theory is that if GRAW and GRAW2, FEAR etc works fine then COD 4 shouldn't have a problem.
I can connect to online games etc. but when i set up a server he just can't see the server....

lan and inernet games are different for a reason. at least open the port 2960 both udp and tcp on the router's firewall. see PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall for help setting up the network properly
