Call of duty 4 Multiplayer Question
 

Just bought and completed Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warefare) for the PC, and i will say, "What an amazing game", blew me away!!! I'm fairly new to gaming because i generally have a very busy lifestyle and dont normally get the time to sit down in front of the PC, so please excuse my stupidity if my question sounds a little stupid for you guys....I am interested in playing Call of duty 4 online as a multiplayer game, but am having difficulty doing this, when i select multiplayer mode, it searches for other players then brings me into the game on my own (alone), can i play against random people i dont know? or do i have to invite or contact other players in first? tried many different ways but cant find anyone to battle against and i'm getting bored running around the screen on my own like an idiot, cheers guys....any help would be apprisiated...Dave:bows:

One thing to make sure of is to check the SOURCE, and that its not to LAN, but to INTERNET. That way you will see the INTERNET servers you can join.

anyone else have issues using the number pad. Ive tried it locked unlocked etc but to no avail in gameplay. when assigning the number to a task it works but not in gameplay. THIS SUCKS for alot of us who use it. Im returning this thing if i cant get it to work or they dont fix it right away. ITs not a huge thing in the programming world. Ive heard of it referred to as binding . anyone have a link to a fix or how i can manually fix it. seeing how the programmers cant get their shat togeather.

You can try editing your config to add the bind's.Make sure you make a backup first,in case you screw it up :D. The path will look somthing like this

C:\ProgramFiles\Activision\players\profiles\Your_N ame_Here.

Open the file named "config_mp" with a text editor. I cant remember the number pad abbreveation,but it should be the same as COD2. Hope this help's

I started a server that I want my friends to play in but they cannot find it. I didnt see an ip game deal anywhere in there. apparently everyone gets a different set of rooms to play in when they refresh. Ive called him while looking and his filter settings are what they should be as well. No name looker or anything makes things tough.

Go to your favorites and click the add server option. Thats where you add the IP. Or hit the tilde (~) key then type in connect x.x.x.x with the IP to connect to the server. Hope that helps.
