PB gamehook kick
 

Help someone please....It all went wrong after I logged onto "EC Riles Mod" server.

A lot of my text has changed in my menus and if I try to log onto another server I get kicked by Punkbuster Violation 125002 (Gamehook). This appears to be a cheat when I checked the Punkbuster site. Does anyone know how to get rid of this....I searched for a file of similar name but couldn't find one called "gamehook.*" The buggers must have given me a modified file or something....grrrr avoid "EC Rifles". Help please or my only other option is to uninstall and re-install the whole thing. :mad:

look for any custom file and get rid of them. stock files are iw_00-15 and localized_english_iw00-11 (english might me someting else for you). if nothing helps, you could try to remove the game, del the cod2 dir if it still exists and reinstall the game

I've uninstalled COD2, deleted the COD2 folder and anything else left behind, cleaned my system registry and re-installed. Patches to version 1.3 but still being kicked via PB. WTF is going on !!! help someone. I Curse EC Rifles ....ptooh ! This was not done by me as I never see the point in cheating + I hate cheats. Why buy a game if your just gonna cheat eh !! It defeats the whole purpose of playing the game in the first place...man I'm P*&!sed Off

If you have uninstalled the game, and reinstalled, it cant be any mod file or otherwise that you've downloaded. It just cant.

Also, I highly doubt that EC Rifles was the cause in the first place.

From the sound of it, if you've been kicked for the gamehook hack, then you are likely now on the MBL. this means you wont get off it no mater how many times you reinstall.

Your best bet is to go and seek asssistance from Evenbalance - makers of PunkBuster. Make an appeal, laying out all the circumstances.

You will need to register for an account if you dont have one. Then, post your appeal in the forum about the PB kick, and one of the staff will reply.

NB Dont expect a speedy resolution to this. Once on the MBL it is extremely difficult to get off it. So, if you are indeed innocent, then you will have to wait patiently for it to be dealt with.

yea there has only been a few cases of people being kicked for files that have DLed from servers and they are usually caught pretty quick.if PB kicked you for a gamehook, then u were prolly runnin some kind of hook in the backround, doesnt even have to be runnin with the game. could be for something totaly different, if its in ur system processes then ur screwed. thats PB for you. so you need to figure out what its kicked you for and make and appeal :( or buy a new game
