Go into the bios and check that your cpu shutdown temp isn't set too low, should be in pc health status or something like that.
Also if you have too many hardware components and your psu is a bit small 300w or less then you may be overloading your pc, Especially if you have one of the newer ati or nvidia cards that use a molex connector for extra power usage.
Failling that, If you are using win xp and you see a small box that says something like .." Error in win nt system, shutdown in 45 seconds", Or words to that effect then you have one of the variants of a "worm" virus that is doing the rounds at the moment, Update your anti-virus and scan your pc to find it, then follow the anti-virus website instructions to delete it.
But it does sound like the cpu shutdown temperature is set too high in the bios. |
