Default Automatic Shutdown

Whenever I'm playing Call Of Duty,my computer automatically shutsdown.Without warning. Then I would have to turn off my power plug and on again before i can switch on my computer. Is it an overheating problem,or something wrong with my power supply?

Could be one of the two. All mobos have the instant shutdown clause in the case that overheating happens. However, a short in the power supply can cause the same thing.

On the other hand, my computer shut down due to my video card when I first tried COD. My drivers were on the Catalyst 3.8s and those had a lot of problems. Both nVidea and ATI cards have been known to cause a shutdown. My nForce 2 mobo just shutdown as soon as those drivers ran.

As the guy said it could be overheating.
Go into the bios and check that your cpu shutdown temp isn't set too low, should be in pc health status or something like that.
Also if you have too many hardware components and your psu is a bit small 300w or less then you may be overloading your pc, Especially if you have one of the newer ati or nvidia cards that use a molex connector for extra power usage.

Failling that, If you are using win xp and you see a small box that says something like .." Error in win nt system, shutdown in 45 seconds", Or words to that effect then you have one of the variants of a "worm" virus that is doing the rounds at the moment, Update your anti-virus and scan your pc to find it, then follow the anti-virus website instructions to delete it.

But it does sound like the cpu shutdown temperature is set too high in the bios.
