Weapon Selection

I was wondering how to do the following.

Instead of having to press ESC to select a weapon, I was wondering if I could press a bind. Like 1 would be Carbine, 2 would be Garand, 3 thompson and so on.

I know this exists for COD2, but Im not too sure about CoD1.
